What friggin zoo! The only release a really wanted ,between the buried and me, they only had one copy of and an employee had it on hold for a friend. Picked up Neurosis, Off! and Opeth If anyone can get their hands on that BTBAM let me know, if you want to sell it or not. I'm just curious if anyone could get a copy
I really wish sarcasm translated better in the world of typing... I'm not sure who's being serious about Mr. K, personally I could care less about his RSD release, but I do think it's cool he thought about it...
purple text used to translate to sarcasm on this board, but I don't post much and it could have been misconstrued. I would call the RSD toy 'phoned in' at best...If I hadn't already opened mine up (can't stand to see an unopened blind box) I'd toss it up on the bay and pay for some real vinyl.
I did not see even one of these Kozik thing. All the stores I went to, except one (Soundcentral) were snobs about toys . I ended up buying mini-comics and bigos instead
kind of late with my request but if anybody has access to the Silverstein 7" and can grab me a copy it would be much appreciated
Just got back from Pale Ale and tunes, plus a vegan pizza spread and Meaty stuff for the carnivores... Picked up a copy of Malice in Wonderland and some Hank 3...
i got the gorillaz and the death cab to play for the ladies (lol) but i wish i had seen that grinderman that thing fuckin rocks and bonus cause nick cave is the devil ... didnt find the regina spektor ep though
Amoeba was a zoo today in LA - but Rollins DJ'd for a couple of hours - played some killer tunes - and graciously chatted, signed and posed with fans between changing tracks. He even posed with one of my favorite toys. Then Fucked Up DJ'd for awhile too. The HuskerDu/GreenDay split 7 sold out, and doubtless Grinderman di too - but that is one sweet vinyl! I think teh Hank III releases looked like they might be special in vinyl terms also...on paper at least. Record Store Day was cool.
OOooh I didn't know that Grinderman record would be all trippy. I gotta call my old job and see if they have any stashed in back for eBay sales (they do that every record store day, keep an eBay stock, assholes.)
RSD sent out an email saying if you were a store and you get caught selling RSD goods on eBay, you do not get to partcipate again.
Nice! All I wanted was a couple of releases but I couldn't get through hordes who needed one of everything, now if they could only do something about them. RSD is a good idea that is unfortunately becoming a target for greedy pricks.
I guess I am lucky because I know a record store owner and we don't have too many hordes of hypster youth in this city. I got both Black Angeles releases, Rush 7-inch, Ramones versus Red Hot Chili Peppers 7-inch, and the new Red Fang on purple (but that is not a RSD release... My store did not get The Kills 10-inch or the Dio vinyl (was it a 7-inch or 12-inch?) or the Rekord Rekords Record 10-inch...
Burgerbuns never heard Jungle before, I think it kind of scared him... Hujili got his rocks off to a damn good cover of Kick Out the Jams!
Yes -Palaces of Montezuma. There was another Grinderman 12", Evil. It was on clear red vinyl w/ speckles and also came w/ a cd of the material (Montezuma did not).
Shit! Congrats on the Burn and YOT. No one in Indy had the Burn, YOT, Quicksand or Bad Brains which is most of what I wanted. But I did get the only Piebald in all of Indy which I was happy about.
They've been doing it since the start. I don't have details, all I know is there was always an "eBay" shelf that no one was allowed to take from in the back unless they asked/were allowed. Sucks for sure. I'm certain other stores do it too and get away with it.
Awesome! I was there but didnt manage to get anything I wanted. Still had fun tho! If anyone knows of somewhere with above Grinderman and the HuskerDu/GreenDay split 7" LMK!
i really wanted the black angels 10" and the gorillaz lp but sadly they were all gone here in louisville by the time i got there.
