This is a nice article about her: https://fronterasdesk.org/content/1...er-amy-osowski-and-her-impact-mesa-arts-scene
Had not checked up on the case in a while... The state dismissed one charge due to a plea deal The plea deal was for David to plea guilty to a lesser charge ( 2nd Degree Murder ) makes me wonder what went on, when the prosecution was intending on seeking the death penalty a year ago.
Sentencing was November 18th. A MAXIMUM of 20 years, minus time served. Not enough time in my opinion, that fucker deserves to rot in a cell forever.
He’s only getting 20 years, which is appalling. I haven’t fully processed the update. I can only hope he somehow gets his pulse stopped in prison. The fact that he can potentially reintegrate back into society is infuriating.
Thank you for posting those links, Deb. I agree with everyone, it makes no sense that he isn't locked up for life for this.
Googling Arizona laws, it would appear the premeditation part of first degree murder is why they let him take a plea deal. Premeditation was probably too hard for the prosecution to prove so they let him plead guilty to the slightly lesser charge and avoid a trial.
Yep, premeditation is usually required for first degree murder. Took a Forensic Psychology class back in college, it’s crazy how criminals can escape a life sentence through pleas. But money’s what it’s all about, it’s expensive to go to court. If they can avoid a trial, they reward the defendant. It’s insane. 20 years is nothing for taking a life. Unbelievable.
