Hey, I am pretty stoked! Robyn Miller, who developed Myst and Riven with his brother, has posted a link to my toy pics on his blog! Here is the link: http://tinselman.typepad.com/tinselman/ He recently wrote and asked if I would mind if he used some of my pics. I said of course not. I didn't realize "who" he was until I went to his blog and checked his bio. It is somewhat of a coincidence because he bought my Biskup Ghonner on eBay a couple of months ago. I just never made the connection with his name and Myst, despite the fact that I spent hours playing that game when it came out. Anyway, cheap thrills!!!
I know the feeling. I sold some toys to Mark Parker (CEO of Nike) a few weeks ago, I was giddy for a week.
I sold some Henshin Cyborg stuff to Johnathon Ross, famed UK talk show host and well known toy collector. Didn't know it was him until I got his mailing address. Then Robbie Williams cam in and checked out Henshin STyle, and offered to by my collection - but then never came back again. I didn't want to sell, but I wanted him to come over and check it out. Robbie is killer in concert, even when he forgets the words.
What excited me was not that I sold someone a toy, but rather that this very image-oriented guy liked my pics... I always loved the graphics in Myst. In addition to the story-telling, the game was so cool because of how it looked.
he was on the beeb last night doing a programme about 'cool' in Japan. He went to one of Nigo's houses and looked around his collection (kaws paintings on the walls etc).
