I've been collecting the S.H. Figuarts figures from Bandai for quite some time now. My fav so far has been the Kamen Rider Fourze series. Primarily, the best has be the basestates figure (my personal first!)! this figure was totally BOLDED by the addition of the stand and effects set. i'm pretty new to the figuarts series, and honestly prefer the regular bandai figure releases. but, just curious what other sb'ers are into this line. if any, please post your collection pictures! i have been pretty much working on the PreCure, Fourze, Gokaiger, & Goseiger series. But so much has been branching out lately, i'm constantly going in new directions.
I don't have any of these guys yet, but I'm actually hoping the S.H. Monsterarts line progresses as nicely as it has. Don't have any of those yet either (because they're currently focusing on the heisei era...and I'm waiting for showa figures), but I hear they're amazing. The first release Godzilla's supposed to be solid, but with some flaws...and what I gather is that the bugs are now all worked out. The more recent Space Godzilla is basically perfect. Here are some great reviews. I pine for a showa Mechagodzilla in this line! Anyway, I know probably not what you were looking for...but I presume that the Figuarts dudes are JUST as high quality. By all accounts, they blow away Figmas, Revoltechs, and every other high end action figure line coming out of Japan now.
those monsterarts figs look amazing! thanks for the review links! i honestly hadn't heard of them. when i first read that title, i had my hopes up for maybe some classic movie monsters (like the ones remco did) in the quality figuarts fashion. that would be a def wet dream. but that space goji is amazing looking! i will definitely have to scoop some of those up. yes, figuarts are the "high-end" of bandai, and they definitely live up to the reputation. its not actually "figuarts" line, but my favorite high-end bandai figure (thought of this because of your 'better than figma' comment) so far is this: drool. this hatsune figure is the toy that made me get into my first non-vintage toyline, and built a respect for modern/quality/ball-jointed toys.
