Kamen Riders, I recognize among everything. Who is Jim holding in the second photo? Kame Bazooka and ?????????
Ya mean this pic? That's Erik, not Jim, incidentally. And he's holding Rokuron Q9 along with Kame Bazooka!
Rokuron is pretty bad-ass, no doubt, but I don't think it can be overstated how great Kame Bazooka is. That thing is breathtaking in person. One of my faves, right up there with Spartan K5 (*ducks*)!
So which is the more difficult figure to find, The Rokuron or Kame Bazooka? Both are just incredible but man the Rokuron is so fantastic. I love how it has two broken necks keeping it true to the show and that it has two different facial expressions. Just stunning. I'm guessing I'd have to rob a bank to afford a Rokuron if one can even be found.
i always have toyed with the concept of busting into vintage collecting. this makes my head spin so much i'm nearly nauseous at the awesomeness that i don't think i could ever do it!
Kame Bazooka can be had, and sometimes even in a box. You just have to want to pay the price tag. Rokuron? Not sure of a real exact number, but I think you can count the known to exist versions with your fingers and toes. I think 4 might exist in the states.
I know this might be to much to ask but you did the jumbo Trooper cant you do a Rokuron Q9 to in vinyl!?
Simple answer? NO! More involved answer? It's a numbers game! For the expense that the Trooper cost to make, the price point it is going to sell at (I think around $350.00 each?? Brian?) and the amount that S7 will need to sell to break even - that demand compared to say a Rokuron figure? It would not even come close to the Troopers popularity and be a loosing proposition for the company. Last time I checked it is still about staying in business and having fun at the same time! On a side note - amazing collcxtion shots - thanks for sharing.
Well, Doc, I agree with what you're saying...and it's not like I'm really that interested in having this fanciful discussion (because all it'll do is get me all pissed off that Unifive folded before making a bunch of the Jumbo reissues they had planned!). But I have to disagree with you on a few points. First of all, the Jumbo Stormtrooper (yes, $300-$350), is going to be blow-molded polyethylene, like all classic hero Popy JMs. That stuff is a whole different form of manufacturing than standard vinyl figs. The vintage villains, however, like Rokuron Q9, were actually vinyl! Now, when Strict Nine suggested doing a Rokuron "in vinyl", I assumed he meant ditch the head-launching gimmicks and just make the whole thing one big pile of vinyl bits. Doing that would make the toy VASTLY cheaper to manufacture than a blow-molded polyethylene piece as sophisticated as the Jumbo ST. Just saying... Still, you're on point with what you said regarding the numbers. It may be vastly simpler (and cheaper) to manufacture an all-vinyl, gimmick-less Rokuron Q9 reissue, but the producer would probably have to charge MORE than the $350 the ST will be just because very few people would buy it!
No. I've been sworn to silence on this, but was allowed to post that picture just because it was ironic that the subject should come up now. Another few weeks and it should be done and public.
Gah, you are such a tease. I can't imagine it's a Jumbo sized figure, as the production costs on that would be massive. Here's hoping to an awesome Standard sized release! I really need to start hanging out with you guys on a more regular basis so I can start getting in on more secret projects!
