just a heads up on a show that joe and his wife from time tunnel put on . its at the santa clara fairgrounds in san jose ca . the show should be over 200 tables and last time i went had lots of vintage stuff . i think the web site you can go to for more info is timetunneltoys.com
I used to go to these all the time back in the 90's, but I was collecting Star Wars and LEGO back then. I never looked for vinyl so I was going to post here to ask if I could expect to find some there. Thanks, Jim. I might go to this. -Len
Didn't this used to be called the Humdinger? I went to one about 10 years ago and made out pretty swell. I'll be there. Thanks Jim!
the humdinger was a show put on in san fran . mostly an antique show with the toy dealers in the second building . the price of admission for the san jose is 5 but to get an " early bird " is 15 . had a great time at the last show and hope i can find a way to make it to this one . wish super 7 was setting up a booth .
Is paying the extra money for the early bird actually worth it? Is there some kind of pre-show toy orgy that I'm missing by being too cheap to pay an extra $10?
Thanks guys! Blue Demon indeed rules. LUCHA!!! Hill, tell Rach I'll take her to Tia's again. That should get her down here. Chris, we should hook up down there man. LMK. Sjoen
yep, mil masceras, santo and blue demon....i still love watching those old b&w movies they were in.....some have been re-released on dvd......good times.....
Funny, my wife grew up watching those and we catch them from time to time on tv here in SF. Always a total riot. We saw one recently where Santo and Blue Demon were fighing while driving a sports car really fast down a HILL... Nuff said.
picked this up for a friend of mine at the last show . as far as paying 5 or 15 to get in i guess it came down to having to drive 8 hrs to get there and then get a hotel room so at that point 10bucks didnt mean that much . plus , not fighting the crowd for 2 hrs was nice even though i didnt really buy anything till near the end of the show .
went to this show a couple of years ago. definitely fun, but not that much Japanese toys. I saw tons of hot wheels, GI Joe and Barbie.... worth the $5..... unsure about the 8 hour drive and hotel though....
I used to go to this show regularly in the late 90's when the place was lousy with beanie babies. Ugh! I wasn't looking for vinyl back then, so I never noticed what the selection was like, but I did score some great vintage LEGO there.
did not drive 8 hrs just to go to this show . that was just a good excuse to get off my ass and vist a couple of friends in the bay area . the show is mostly american toys with very little vintage japanese stuff . still , i did find that there was a lot more older stuff to look at then at SDCC .
