Savage Republic in SF next week.

If you dont know who they are go, you will see one of the best post punk bands that ever existed. I wish I was in SF just to see this, and Flipper is on the bill with the Toiling Midgets too.

 

Flipper? Even though Will's dead? Well I guess that's rock and roll for ya.

I haven't seen Savage Republic since they opened for PiL in 1982, heh. Cafe du Nord is a tiny venue. They've hosted a number of OG punk-ish shows in recent years including reunions of The Mutants and Crime. Perfect place for a show like this.

A friend of mine gave me a bunch of Savage Republic vinyl 45's a few years ago. I don't have a turntable to play them on, though.

 

Crime! I missed them a few times and still regret it, "Hotwire My Heart" is an alltime favorite.

 

Savage Republic had cool sleeves as well ... with Postage Stamps!
They were awesome.

 

I still have all my Savage Republic records, the hand printing they did for all thier self releases is beyond belief.

 

Old & young punks will be able to catch CRIME soon.
