If you gonna have car you can try some motels in National City (5-10 min), Chula Vista (10-15 min) or even San Ysidro (15 min) this Citys are south San Diego's Downtown, I think there are some motels close to the trolley line
hmmm i just had no problem booking something through the website. it's a few miles out, but it has decent ratings on tripadvisor and was an ok price. i won't complain.
I prebooked one about a mile from the Con hoping to pick up sump'n cheaper when the block booked rooms were released . . . didn't happen!
mine that i got was cheaper and was about equidistant, so i'll go with that one do they run the shuttle out to the farther reaches? we have a car so it's not a huge deal, but just figured i'd check
No! If I recall correctly the shuttles service mainly the downtown hotels . . . last couple of years we stayed out Mission Valley and there was nada . . . taxi fares soon add up over 4-days so paying the extra for a downtown hotel pretty much balanced out. Old Town is great for the tram deal if you're close enough.
i had called the reserv. line at like 1:30 and they took my reservation via a request form because their system was down. i actually got an email from them at 6pm confirming one of my choices! sweet.
Mission Valley is a good alternative if you get shut out downtown. The trolley is $5 round trip and I think it's good all day. You can find hotels close to the few trolley stations in Mission Valley, so you can just hoof it to those. And as far as 4 day passes go, anyone who missed out should ask pros on the board foe help. If it's the same as last year, I think pros could buy an additional four passes. There were no breaks on the price as in previous years, but you can still manage to score a four day pass plus preview night that way. If anyone needs help, let me know.
Danielle and I got a place. It's a few miles away so I'm hoping something closer opens up before the con, if not I'll be hoping on the trolly. I'm just stoked to be going again.
Sorry, I'm already someone else's +1. And I would definitely be interested in another dinner this year.
damn, saturday is sold out too! on a local morning radio show here, they were talking about people calling in trying to get the main host to be there "leader" and somehow be able to get tickets. if they somehow get a hold of some tickets, imagine all the different contests they could do to win them.
The teacher thing worked, so if anyone has a teacher friend to bribe you might be able to get them to give you their free guest pass.
Hasn't it BEEN sold out? I was going to look into going just for a day or 2 and trying to find someone to mooch a floor off of last min. but when I saw the tix were all gone I just gave up on the idea.
damn its coming fast. too fast. I haven't even started to save SDCC funds yet. well, I did. But I blew em. cause I'm irresponsible like that.
There have been a few moments recently where I want to spend what little funds are set aside so far it will be worth it to save though coming up quick!
