Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 While its undoubtably a quality piece of work - I much prefer a "toy-like" quality to my vinyls - this reminds me of a Medicom VCD, or X-plus. It would also look wierdly at odds with pretty much anyting else in my collection.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Agreed. Buuuut...as stated before, this is a licensed toy from a movie. I'm sure it had to be rendered in a particular way to satisfy the licensors. 'Sides, a lot of Shikaruna toys have a very "realistic" flavor to 'em. Anyway, I think this toy is more for fans of the movie or Haraguchi in general than for us average vinyl collectors.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Ah yes Poseidon was one of their earlier releases. Completely forgot about that guy. Also for anyone that is trying to obtain that Death Kappa. Grumble Toys just added it up for pre-orders if you are interested.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 agreed. anyway for a totally crazy company like shikaruna that does weirdest monsters again and again, seems like waste of time to do realistic figures. but then never doubt they could if they wanted. kappa looking totally perfect. not to forget its probably quite an honour for shikaruna being asked to do licensed figures, remember koji saying so in an interview in terms of collab with coca cola.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 I am so out of the loop right now....took a toy sabbatical. Were there any lucky bags from SK this year? can anybody shed some light? thanks in advance! ^^
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Anyone have news on when the Death Kappas will be ready for release? I'm Anxiously waiting.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 yup, they're on pre-order at grumble. should be out soon?
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 beautiful find akum6n. is the base vinyl yellow or flesh?
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Wow Daniel where did you find him? Well now that you have him in hand and took great shots I no longer need to rack my brain for pics of this guy online (that I know i saw a long time ago).
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Was anyone able to get the little Hunchback train station attendant exclusive or the Wonder Fest vinyl windmill home for Kappa-sama? If so i would appreciate seeing photos of it. Thanks! Shikaruna Koubou Kappa-sama by chimply kaiju
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 How did one go about getting the hunchback? Was it a show exclusive like the windmill?
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Hunchback is great! Wish they sold him separately, I'd pick him up. Here is another pic I found online:
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 For any of the Garumega collectors, can you help shed some light on this guy? Just picked him up from YJA and couldn't really figure out the edition or if it was a hand-paint. Tried to take as many angles as I could to show the colorway. Thanks for any help.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Looks like a one off to me. Perhaps post the header card and maybe one of our expert kanji readers could shed some light?
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 Thanks guys! Unfortunately, there's no header card Title: ソフビ、ガルメガ、シカルナ工房、パチモン 30センチ Google Translation: Soft Vinyl, mega Galle, Shikaruna workshop, Pati Mon 30 cm The only description was: "シカルナ工房製。本体のみ。塗装スレが少しあります。 本体のサイズは約30センチです。" Google Translated: "Shikaruna studio made. Body only. [Sure] there are a few paint. Body size is about 30 centimeters." The rest of the info was all shipping and payment details.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 I saw that listing on YJA as well. I'm not sure where it came from. Green vinyl was used only once with Garumega, for the second release back in 2007. I've seen a normal release and an SP version, but neither matches this one. It is probably a one-off or a second SP version from around that time.
Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/24/10 akum6n: thanks for the details. sorry for my lack of knowledge, but can you clarify what the "SP" version is? i actually have the green with gold/bronze paint also and i'm pretty sure that was a normal release based on the header.
