The minis MGs almost never pop up for sale unless they are part of one of those giant eggs with a bunch of minis in it. I saw a pink mini MG a few months ago but didnt win. The only minis you really see are the ones from years back like the little Namegon and Shadow Seijin as that was the M1GO peak and they were making a lot of each release. These days, its probably a fraction of what a run used to be.
Tsuburaya or Toho? Why choose, go with both! And for bonus viewing, a great Bullmark repro Goji mini I picked up from Linda (thanks!! ).
Got in a couple big wants today, old and new! Old: Been after this for years. Does anyone know the release info? It is signed on the foot. I'm looking at you Baikin. New: I wanted this version of Baron Spider from the moment I laid eyes on it, and was very surprised and happy to win one on YJA for a decent price with NO competition. It is even more impressive in hand than I could have imagined... 12" leg span, 7" front to back and the fangs are separate jointed pieces.
That Pestar was a hyper Hobby exclusive wayyyyy back. I never noticed the signature! I'll go check mine.
that green gid pestar looks even better than the metallic pink/gold one. great toy, great photo! and thanks to dennis for always keeping us educated.
I don't know who Baron Spider is, but he's DAMN excellent in GID and multi-color sprays! Too bad he's missing a couple legs.
Thats what I though but if you look close the middle leg actually is two legs coming out from the body cast as one piece. I love this toy, I bought the black and orange GID myself.
Do all the figures that come from the old Bullmark molds have that same thin, harder feeling vinyl? The ones I do have, Rodan,Bullmark Goji, Gigan and Megalon all the the same type of vinyl, while the others have that softer, squishier feeling vinyl. Just wondering if the older figures will have the same feel across the board. I prefer the more squishy feel of the vinyl I think.
Yeah, I didn't notice when taking the picture that the angle was obscuring one of his legs, though I did notice when editing. Hey you can see the shadow He is from UltraQ episode 9 apparently, I wasn't familiar with the character either, and admittedly thought it was Kumonga for a a little bit, though now realize it is easy to tell the difference because Baron Spider only has 2 eyes.
^^Yup! I thought it was Kumonga as well at first! But the eyes definitely make it simple to tell. You...and the rest of the board, pal!
An oldie but a goodie! I missed this when it originally came out, so happy to have it. 54' Goji Maquette by M1GO by Omocha to Neko, on Flickr
You definitely don't see him too often. I wonder if Toygraph was inspired by the same material, their faces are very similar to this.
Yeah, this is the maquette version of Godzilla which was based on an early concept art for the '54 version of Goji. Several companies did a version of this guy; the Toygraph comes to mind, Pilot Ace, and the large size from X Plus.
Passed this over many times (not for lack of love - just circumstance) but I finally caved in. I have always loved the Ultra from this set with the Beta capsule in his hand. I just love toys holding weapons/accessories, and it is such a classic sculpt of him. He really looks great holding it up in the air (though here at this angle he kinda seems to be in 'interview mode' ). Sadly, I tried the Beta capsule several times now and I remain life size.
Sorry guys, yes little flying Ultra escaped my earlier group shot, so to correct that terrible ooversight on my part and to let all the others on to 'the secret,' here is an extra goody from the Fireball set. Shuwapp!!
