Got the OK from Skinner to post this pic from Wondercon. I don't think anybody (even Skinner) knows what the final toy will look like.

From the notes it looks like there will be a full bodied toy.

 

i was close but no cigar yeah, the notes do sound like a full body to me too. it's cool that skinner let shik & lulu run with some sketches to see what they come up. i'm even more excited now, as i love to see artists collaborate with out a bunch of ego mucking it up.

 

Last weekend I was up in Sacramento for the last Dragatomi show and after it was over we went over to Skinners studio... while I was there I took some pictures of this said 'figure' If he gave Dustin the okay... I will see if I can post the stuff I took

if you read the notes looks like theres a recuring concern with matching the heads with a body, as if they were designing heads for a pre-existing body...

i'm not sure how i feel about a 3-piece "kaiju bust," but i am still excited to see the sculpt.

 

So no skull body, Well no body in general haha. I am alittle less stoked then I initially was, BUT I am all for changing things up. And him using the japanese vinyl to make a bust MAYbe interesting. I'm hoping for some substantial heft on this atleast.

 

I love Skinners work but I collect toys not busts. I guess my wallet gets a break.

That busts my hopes for a full figure with this design.

Though a bust is not for me, it will be interesting to see what the scale is and how people display it.

I'll withhold judgement until I see a final product... with that being said, I fucking hate busts.

 

I like busts. Busts are nice to bury ones head in...plus Skinner's is inspired by emerging sharks.
