Boston < NewYork... oh wait... Boston < Pugs
Every time I see this thread I think that something like this will be in here.
I like dogs too though...
Epic SK movie!
I like the lil' doggy, but I don't know if I have $85 worth of like. That's a pricey pooch!
Agreed. I really like this sculpt and this is probably the only toy my wife would ever truly like (at least for a few mins) but def a bit pricey. I'd be more willing to shell out that cash for a painted but since this is coming from some new names I'm not sure it merits that price. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes though!
I love the little smile on this guy, but was confused as to how this could possibly be considered "kaiju"...
All doubts in my mind have been erased with the release of the header card art by Javier Jimenez.
EAT ALL THE DREAMS.
missing the tatts and Jordans
Damn $85 !
i like the sculpt work , who did it ??
Well, the first post of the thread answers your question
Looks like he wants to bring up his post count, which explain the inane posts. also had sale thread taken down, no idea what that was about but good on James for the swift action.
$85 seems ridiculous. Maybe I'm wrong but the figure doesn't seem very large. I thought maybe 50 bones.
Maybe this theme should be moved from American idols? Paulus Shyu the creator of Nimbus is from Singapore.
Paulus received the first test pull of the Nimbus... Looks great , tho as sculptor is always a bit nerve wracking to no be able to see in person the final thing before it goes to the masses. Some things might change in the whole production process.
Looks great Walter!
I'd say this belongs here more than the Japan Toys forum, as neither the creator or the sculptor are Japanese. We have a lot of non-American artists' toys in this section, so maybe we should change the section to "Gaijin Toys" or something.
I really didnt know about the sculpt collaboration , abecause yes... didnt read due im working all day and check pc as much i can ( my bad )
Im a big fan of a few artist in Mexico ( in particular ) and didnt seen this pieces before, as well didnt check on chauskoskis post anything about this particular work or seen before this piece at social media .
Yes , my account was recovered and have no messages registred at all ( about the sale, yes i got a few pieces that i wish people at here can get em instead of ebay ) thats why i read rules and yes i tried to keep my account active again .
You can check my work at my link bellow and check my intentions are good as i always doing my best for art toy scene at my contry
i can speak for myself but i can understand you guys has your own opinion
( x cierto , excelente trabajo en esta pieza , ya no presume su trabajo por las redes o de plano demasiada chamba ??? (Y) saludos )
Have a great day !
Most people here knows What You do on the scene, you are respected . No need to explain yourself, I'm always lurking on the board too, I guess I feel guilty about it and I'm trying to get my "posts count up" too but seems like I still will be "fresh meat" for quite sometime lol
And yes , it was , me , I can see you really been out of the social networks and blogs news. Nimbus has been out there for quite some time. But yeah, i don't have time to post much of my stuff lately. I'm trying to get back on track with that. I really enjoyed boards, blogging and stuff, but make toys is very time consuming shit (as you know) or you make toys or you blog and do social relationships. I do prefer to make ugly toys.
Sleepwalker Nimbus is awesome.
Chauskoskis work is awesome.
Paulus Hyu is awesome.
People who count others post counts, and attack them on the subject... Not awesome. lol
I am hoping for a big box of these puppies to show up at my house to paint in the near future.
Need to keep on track on AWESOME toy productions instead posting i had a few projects upcomming hope get em ready soon to show what im doing ( one is for a new vinyl figure , im very glad with results for now, this piece im working is going very slow and detials are missing but hope get enoght time to finish it soon, the main idea that i had in particular for this project is from few yrs ago and that is becoming alive and looking all process im kind of enthuciast ) right now i have a lot of personal work as well and a few local shows to work with.. ( not sure if i can make it for next months ) very busy for now and little time for AWESOME posts but will keep an eye at here as much i can
And yes Chauskoskis work is complety AWESOME , no doubt :>
Best Regards !!!
I am so excited for this release, the sculpt and concept is just too good. I love those dogs.
I honestly do like this toy, but seeing as Joe has always sold painted cadaver kids for 85 or less (75 for the guardian demons I did a couple years back), I'm seriously thinking the maker/designer/distributor of this figure have a couple screws loose... Hmmmm - let me think cadaver kid (any) or blank doggy...? No contest. In fact, I can eat ramen or curry 10 times for that price. That's the real winner!
That said - really nice work on the sculpt Walter - as always.
haha thats the good thing about toys, theres a market and a taste for everything. personally, im not a fan of the cadaver kid. so even if i wasn't the sculptor of the Nimbus, i would buy it instead Cadaver B.
and about the price, honestly don't know why its that price, maybe he got a big fan base willing to pay it? i can think a few good reason why they are setting that price. And sure, i can think a couple ideas about why they maybe need to get the price down.
either way it was a cool project
Paulus Hyu (Kurobokan) and I are releasing a run of the Sleepwalker (Nimbus) sofubi figures, The “Candy Crush” edition. Painted on a clear vinyl base in 3 different editions of 10 pieces each, they’re priced at $95 and will be dropping at the Kurobokan online store on January 2nd at 10pm PST. Sleepwalker stands 6.5″ tall and will be sold blind.
An entire set will be guaranteed if 3 are purchased in one order.
I really look forward to painting more detailed one offs of SW nimbus.
from a painters point of view the figure is so fun, doesn't rub anywhere, and has lots of great textures.
I understand this figure is priced differently from other figures in the scene, but whatever...
this is the original image of concepts i did for Paulus for the clear figure run
Here are pics of the 2 micro runs Nagata did:
A shame that the third from the top didn't get chosen, I love those colors!
Though I love the sculpt, I think I'll be holding off until a GID one is made... I think I have a problem.
