The first isn't that bad but when you see the second one the reality kicks in and you realize that the arms are terrible.

besides the arms looking crap,,the whole execution of a limbed body does not really fit on a bemon...

just my two cents,,,and i do not even collect bemon..

Anyone have a scan of the original drawing again? The one on the IKB header card.
I know it's on here somewhere, I guess I could look.
How much of the Smogun2 shows up in the drawing to actually to go on for the sculpt? Isn't the whole lower body open for interpretation?

I actually think this turned out a lot better than I was expecting. Not that I particularly like it, but I was expecting a disaster...

Just my two cents, but if you ask me this guy is the Anti-Bemon.

The head looks out of proportion to the body, the pose on the arms is ridiculously static, the shoulder joints are awkward, the texture is all craggy and simplistic (not slimy and pronounced) and to top it all off he has a bib and chunky chunky hands.

That Cthulhu they're kicking around better be killer, because now they've messed up a Zag and a Bemon...

Here's a link to the header image on Meary's Flickr.

I don't mind the paint on this guy but I'm not big on the arms. From what I can get through the translation it sounds like there will be a mini released with these guys too? It's also mail order so, unlike the OG (and far superior ;) Bemon) I'm sure these will be a lot easier to get which is cool.

Messed up on his interpretation of the drawings or the familiar existing toys that are out there?
That said, I haven't liked any of the interpretations of Tatsuzi Kazita's drawings very much.. I guess I'm warming up to that little zag.
Who knows the deal with this Smogun2 sculpt? Was it started by the HUKKOKUDO guy?
Anyway, I am a bit disappointed with the shift of target-earths focus. I want to see more versions of this guy:

Just messed up by my own aesthetic standards. I have no problem with companies taking liberties on the original designs, there are just times when I don't like the results. I thought their Zag looked hydrocephalic and the wings on that Bagun from a few months back didn't really hit me in a good way, either.

I did like that little spider-legged guy they came out with a while back, though ;)

 I admit I had to look hydrocephalic up, but I agree with you.

I'm just going to hope the upcoming stuff will be a bit of a return to form.

After all this delay, I actually like it with the paint app and have no problems with it, It looks like the Smoggun 2 go on the header.

I was offered this and paid up months back after purchasing the Hukokkudo Box set. Can't wait to see the mini.

    same here.
    It just feels.... wrong
I was really excited at first, but the Bemon has become so iconic it's hard for me to except now.
It's kinda like the starwars prequels. I was so friggin psyched to see them, now I wish I never did.

I agree with this. If there was no bemon I would be loving this, but it just can't compete. I'll probably pick one up if the colors are right.

The sculpt is atrocious, if I had no Bemons it might be ok but it'd look out of place.
