Just got back from the mountain! Opening day! I guess this is the 3rd earliest Mt. Hood Meadows has opened. I've never been on opening day, but since I bought a season pass I decided to take the day off and join the festivities on the mountain. For it being the first day of the season the snow kicked ass! Great powder stashes all over the place. Unfortunately I forgot to zip up one of my pockets and lost my wallet in the powder. I'm counting this as my first season since 2001/2002 as I've only been a handful of times since then when I was living in Whistler. I'm quite rusty, and despite being able to travel at a high velocity never really felt stable. Was linking turns just fine, even switch, but never felt solid enough to try any tricks or big air. Hopefully I haven't passed the age of no return and those things come back to me. Anybody else riding yet?
well here's hoping some snow might fall by end of the year but when it does in the UK it don't last for long, the weather is pretty nice here at the moment so I am still skateboarding loads at the min thinking of a snowboard holiday next year though
I've never been snowboarding or skiing before, I really hope to try it this year. I'm just excited for snow on my balcony!
