Wow!! What a beauty, love the sculpt and those metallics!! M1 is finally making a full size Guilala, released to celebrate the remake of the 1967 movie.
Standard means around 6" right? From what I understand, there aren't many accurate looking guilalias anywhere, so this is kind of a first.
This M1 Guilala is so nice. X-Plus made a 14 inch Guilala in unpainted glow and painted green vinyl and also made 2 versions of a standard size Guilala, I think one of the standard sizes came with the spaceboat rocket ship. Definitely hoping to get one of these M1's.
Nice coincidence...I wasn't familiar with the film but just ran across one of the movie posters maybe a week ago on YJA and thought, "Wow, that's one crazy monster design." I think I'll be getting this. Anyone know about edition size? And who made this version? -- jJ
That's the latest giant-sized one from Marusan, based on their standard sized sculpt. I have the glow version of the ST...now, I'm praying with all my toy karma for M1 to drop that new sculpt in glow vinyl...and KRAZY paint apps!
I saw that Marusan version at S7. It is really nice. Clear green vinyl with silver paint applied to the inside...it is yummy.
X-plus does summa the best ones I've seen, imo. There big with "realistic" sculpts, can't beat that. They sell quite frequently on yahoo as well.
You ain't kidding. I think I might have to grab that one...I like it better than the M1 version that's coming. It feels a little more...I don't know...refined, maybe? Can't quite put my finger on it. Just feels like there's some better proportioning that makes the character feel more dynamic. That paint job doesn't hurt, either. -- jJ
I think you are referring to the Marusan video display - they did a figure and base with a Space Boat on the end of a metal rod and a place to display the video cassette when it was re-released in the late 90's I believe.
The Marusan video display is cool. X-plus produced two 8 inch versions, one gray and one green. One of them came with a mini spaceboat but I forget which one. X-Plus does this with many of their releases. I remember that the web exclusive version of Eleking came with a baby Eleking in a swimming pose. I got the regular version without the baby Eleking.
