Have people got these in-hand now? Would love to see more pictures of the Commando.

I think the quality is sub-par in general for this line.
But i guess they get away with it since the concept is supposed to be "bootleg".

Yeah, I wanna see what the 3rd "secret" head looks like. At least I'm assuming it was another head...

I have seen no 3rd head. I was wondering if it was a slightly different paint job. Mine came with 2 heads, what we saw on the site.

Really love it that the breast plates are painted and not sticker.

Also like the how the legs are set apart and tapered.
Overall, there's kinda "Mickey Mousey" vibe to it. Awesome!

It really is a great, cartoony sculpt! Thanks for the better pics! And I'm also glad to hear that the breast plates are painted. I love the alternate helmet - it reminds me of Snoopy!
Hopefully I'll be able to track one of these down some day.

I scored a built up original while I was in Japan and I didn't even realize it!
It's the cantina band headed one.

I'm glad you posted that, Paul. I suspected the sculpting was tighter on the originals. The new trooper is better than the vader, but the originals show that you can do bootleg without the sloppiness.

That original is defintiely awesome Paul. You snagged one of the coolest ones too. I love that you can wheel him around too :) Is the base molded in to the legs?

No, you can remove it from the wheel base.

This one was assembled very nicely and luckily made it home in one piece!

I would live to own all of them assembled, but I'm not taking that path to insanity. ;)

Was just looking through this thread, and at first I was disappointed at people here for saying "Cantina band member" instead of "Figrin D'an," but then I realized that I'm a nerd and I should shut up.

What are you then when you realize that you should shut up but then post it anyway?

[nerd alert] Or maybe it was just another of the Modal Nodes, so we were refraining from passing judgment on his solo career.

To get back on topic, I think the Kikaider tribute is really interesting. Brings a whole new level to these guys. A great sculpt, but highlighted with more detail elevates it far beyond patchi bootlegs.

I was pleasantly surprised as well. Did I read that right that there were only 25 of them for this release? The translated phrasing was a little strange. And pretty sure these were 1 per household. Good luck finding one NT.

Actual success too here for once, though I am not too happy about the shipping charge. So I thought this was pretty much an open run pre-order (up for 24 hours), not sure if you entered and they cut off the numbers somewhere. If so, that's unfortunate. I am sure they will come out with a 'truer' trooper version soon enough though.

@ keiboba - No, you could specify a quantity in the order so I am pretty sure multiples were cool. I was actually thinking that if I could have afforded it, I would have ordered a few of them, and put up for anyone who wants them here at cost, to remove the motivation/profit for any flippers  Sadly my wallet just couldn't handle it.

I'm guessing that this one may have been a lottery instead of "first come first served." I ordered about 15 minutes before the deadline and got a success e-mail this morning.

It looked like it was open order, I thought he just cut off the order once the time limit was up? I know I got one, and I'm super excited for it. That shipping charge though, yowza!

nope, it was a lotto. I ordered around 15 minutes into the open date and didn't get an email. it said in the description that only those accepted would be notified by email which hints at a lotto despite the big PRE-ORDER at the beginning of the description.

    BUMMED!! :(

Was quite confused. "Pre-order." "Lottery sale." "The email requests will be fulfilled in chronological order."
All I know is I didn't get one. Looks like it was indeed a lottery.
