Interesting perspective with the retail location. I manage a cinema complex and not a DAY goes past that someone doesn't attempt to steal posters from display cases, hanging banners or made up standees (or pieces of) and confectionary etc. When you catch them and confront them (here at least) they know if they're under 18, juvenile justice doesn't exist so the police don't give a shit and won't even answer calls ! When I was their age I wouldn't even think of doing those sorts of things, let alone doing them for shits and giggles. Fuckers.
thieves are lame...but SDCC seems like a pretty good place for them to be...??? especially the last six or eight years as the crowds have grown & the lames have invaded... or maybe it was barry mcgee...??? i read in a magazine article that he still loves to steal! (truly). and not just from "the man" either...other people's houses etc. thieves are creepy. thieves that have money are creepiest.
i'm pretty pissed about this crap. i almost want to browse through the art section of ebay (since the person who stole this probably doesn't the artist or title of the piece, and list it as monster art or something...), find the thing, bid up on it, then deliver myself in a box to their doorstep with my fists wrapped in glue bandages dipped in broken glass, bloodsport style! great example of american hospitality here (i haven't yet found a way to type sarcasm clearly).
Taipei Death Match!! yeah the thought of stealing an original painting is ridiculous to me still, how big do your balls need to be to still something theres only one of in the world. thats an link the the artists life directly, not a run of a print or something. a piece he or she sat down and worked on for hours if not days... crazy.
i don't think that is ecw. i don't remember them using the red white & blue ropes. i may be wrong....
it was stolen by a "toy collector" - of course. 50% would do the crime. the other 50% would rather pay double. the odds are bad in this game - sorry to say. it didn't used to be this way.
Its the bad breed (Ian and Axl) feud pay off when they had the glass put on their fists. Its ECW, but its definately not the first death match in the US, not by a long shot.
