does anybody know anything about streaming quicktime videos on a webpage? im trying to get my animation up on my page and its seriously a pain. no idea what im doing, and not having any luck finding decent tutorials. anybody here an expert? thanks.
I don't know specifically how to do it, but try this: go to a page where it does work, view the source, and copy the code, modifying it so that it uses your QT file instead of theirs.
bryanarchy - yeah, i want to have the video playable without being downloadable. also, i thought it made the most sense to do streaming for videos that were larger files. roger - thats a good idea, thanks!
I believe that you need to have the QT file hosted on a QT streaming server. Otherwise, the best you can do is embed the QT in an HTML page and a user will have to wait for it to fully load (or at least the majority of it) before viewing. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/streamingserver/
roger is on the money for how to do it nice and easy. pm me if you have trouble, i can walk you through it. b
Do have access to Flash? If so, use that. Convert the file to an flv. and play it through a Flash media component. Easy, efficient and awesome quality. PM me if you want some more info. Heck I do this all day.
