I'm mostly just venting, but has anyone had recent issues with Tamiya spray cans? I've used opaque colors and primers before on RxH vinyl without issue, but the batch I picked up this past week has been giving me seriously shady issues. The paint is clotting up on the vinyl and the cans seem to be much messier than they used to be.

Is it just not my week or are others experiencing this?

if the cans aren't old/defective, have you washed the vinyl before painting?

brand new cans. Washed the vinyl, lightly sanded the vinyl and then washed it again and let dry for two days.

I'm using Tamiya TS and PS sprays and have not experienced issues yet but I will do a test spray prior to application on this information

yeah, it has just been the new cans I bought this week. I've been buying from the same place for two years with no problems. I'm calling off the attempts tonight and will start again tomorrow.

I do like and still use some Tamiya but never had a problem with the spray cans, they could be old and like the bottled version they do sort of "expire". Id take it back to the store and ask for a new can, you probably got some old stuff or can exposed to heat.

swapped out all the cans I got a couple of weeks ago for new ones today, and the paint is, once again, smooth as buttah.

I think it's time I changed the filters on my mask, the fumes must be getting to me.

I've had some inconsistent experiences with their brush paints as well, so don't feel like this is your fault
