The blank Big Sal is gonna look great with the Monster Family set. I wonder if they'll have any at the opening...because I heard they'll be at Dragon Con but not sure if that's the first instance of their availability.
This is going to be sweet... I am still closer to SF, but I am glad that FL is getting some love... Please take pics! By the time I get around to figuring out this particular forum, I'll be in the mood to see some good stuff... hehehe... HAVE FUN EVERYONE!!!
Why couldn't this have happened 6 months ago Guess I'll be making a trip to SoFla next time of go visit the fam
Just updated our blog with the grand opening press release. You can check it out here. http://www.super7florida.com/ I cannot wait until next week!!!
Great press release--it got me excited for S7FL all over again even though I'm here in SF. Congrats Scott, Lauren, Brian, and Dora!!
Thank you. I pitched a trip to the opening to my girl...coming from Atlanta, and she was like...sure, lets go. I love that girl.
Yay! Because of my screwed up car situation, school starting, etc. my GF decided to surprise me with a room at the Renaissance Vinoy! Roughly 6 blocks from the soon-to-be S7 St. Pete location. If anybody (no psychos please) maybe needs a couch to crash on the night of the 29th, wants to hang out pre or post-event, or whatever; PM me.
I'm absolutely wanting to hang out afterwards. I'll be coming to the opening with at least 3 friends, all of whom are complete virgins to the toy scene. How should we identify each other?
The Renaissance Vinoy is an awesome hotel, and you will be literally right in the heart of the action next weekend. Brian Flynn and Glenn, I think, will be staying at the Grayl's hotel right across the street from you, and the store is just two or three blocks away. There are several nice restaurants and bars in the area, so we all should have ample opportunity to geek out and catch up on all things toys all weekend. Right now we are planning on having snacks and various beverages available at the opening, and there is a cafe, bar, and great pizzeria right next door to the store. And for those who are driving in, please note that the store is located in the only commercially zoned structure right smack dab in the middle of the historic residential neighborhood we live in called "the Old Northeast", and so set aside an extra minute or two for parking down one of the adjoining side streets, depending on how busy things are that Saturday night. Also, we will be in the store at 12 p.m. that day and will be handing out line numbers from that time until the opening, so nobody has to worry about standing in line all day. If anyone has any questions about the opening, please do not hesitate to ask, and of course you should keep an eye on our blog for more details in the coming days.
from the other thread but this ones more active: any more of an idea if this may happen? sounds like fun!
I'm game for a trade fest, or lunch next door. I have my "name badge" ready (Tinman picture used from one Hiro sent me)
We just went live in the St. Petersburg Times. Enjoy! http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/r ... ks/1030493
Thanks guys! I'm so happy the photographer kept the "toy wall" out of frame so what's on offer will still be a surprise to those coming this weekend. We're soo psyched!!!
Great article. See you guys Saturday. The article made it into the local daily paper called the "tbt" too.
