I've seen the gold, black, and blue Squires in person, and they seem to me to be high-quality figures. I'm not interested in them though.
About 20 minutes ago, I showed the squire figures to my wife for the first time. She noticed the boxes, so I opened one and took the figure out and held it towards her for her to look at it. She recoiled and said they were "creepy." She didn't really want to hold one, but did after some encouragement from me. She was still pretty repulsed by them. Why, I asked? Because they appeared to have children's heads and pig's bodies - she works with special ed kids. I told her they were not necessarily children, but perhaps ancient men's heads on pig's bodies. This didn't seem to make her feel any better about them. I should note that she does not like most of my vinyl figures - she is mostly indifferent to them. But she definitely did not like the squires. The ones she likes the most that I have in my collection are the Woodring Frank toys (Frank, Pushpaw and Pupshaw).
I think they're just kinda... lame. and this guy does great gig posters. Some toys should just never be made.
I dig the Squire. Jermaine is a very cool guy as well as a great artist. There is a lot of background story behind his Squire and Dero. He puts alot of thought into these creatures. It is all based around a mystical philosophy he has.
