Man... he didn't even ask him to trade the toy or return it or anything. He just said please don't erase my work and I'll give you one for free to paint. Still didn't work. I know when you buy a toy it is yours to do with as you please but damn that is cold-fucking-blooded.
As far as comments go the dude didnt even reply to Grody, just painted over his figure with no remorse.
That Grody custom... jeez. You painted over Luke’s release to paint it like THAT?! This hurts to look at, respect the toy’s creator ffs. To completely ignore him is just painful disrespect.
Watching his IG and weeping. Dudes a moron and hype seeker, best stay away from that self harm, fam. The comments alone in half the posts are cringe worthy.
I clicked on the thing and he has blocked me as well. I think it was my annoying comment on his gross grody attempt at a toy paint. Lol I’m glad, that way IG won’t recommend his garbage or put his eye sores on my recommended feed.
my ig is private most of the time and its usually to stop people from either A. ask me to buy my things or B. dropping on the floor throwing a tantrum about what things i have been able to purchase. when people have me blocked that i havent bullied or cyber-bullied i assume its because one of those two reasons. also my view on this hobby is that we are all nerds for buying dollies and thus all bullying is null and void LOL
I picked up some good stuff off of someone throwing a tantrum about you winning some toy lotteries. It's amazing how hard some people go in this hobby and then when they're out, they are selling just about everything.
it is INSANE!! a new thing to consider now when buying something; will this purchase end up in some random persons feelings being hurt?
What thought process makes someone have a breakdown when someone else wins a vinyl doll? Im genuinely curious. Some people are too emotionally invested in toys it seems haha.
i personally know a handful of japanese artists that have handfuls of bemon toys for free because they are friends who came up together. these artists dont even collect vinyl toys but they obviously appreciate them. imagine if i threw a fit because a kougai was costing me, a total stranger, 800-1000 buckaroos. the entitlement to dollies in this hobby is just nuts i tell ya
For what its worth here is my story about people going nuts over vinyl dollies: Nerd has a hard life, lack of nourishing interaction with meaningful others then find a hobby that reminds them of a time where everything was simpler and give them some sense of control. Then they are finding out that they don't have any control over that world too. In other news, I don't think anyone posted about this brand new, hella original toy. I appreciate the twist: instead of giving in the overhype two headed treatment this one settles for 4 eyes and two sets of arms! A skull body, horns in the back and furry texture the like of which we never seen before! Other twist, while this toy is sold as a lottery it doesn't cost an harm and a leg.
I stopped following a lot of toy ppl because for buying toys they do act like children half the time AND the main reason I don’t post my toys that often anymore. Nothing is more annoying than unsolicited requests to buy our hype dollies. If I had a buck for every time someone asked for my MVH or HxS crap, I would’ve bought a few more off of the bay
Heard joke once: nerd goes to sofubi man. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. yadda yadda but sofubi man i AM the nerd
Woof, that’s the toy equivalent of that Chinese Apple camping stove meme. A chunk of plastic shit. I don’t judge the stuff coming out of the Chinese scene too hard. Then again I’m lucky enough to have a focus in their contemporary scene so it’s a half collecting hate half professional love there, ha. all that said, it will be garbage 80% of the time Bc it’s either blatantly appropriated or derivative to a fault, but when it hits, it hits hard and well. Unlike the uninspired American/western color vomit and pus on pus with skulls design with zero sensibility, these cats at the least (for the most part) have an eye for color and sizing. I mean, look at that Kumon abortion! A decade ago it would’ve killed.
Since we’re mentioning collectors having a cry I’d like to chime in on behaviour on the flip side I’ve seen fair weather collectors exhibit many a time. I’m talking about the whole aggressive “my stuff isn’t for sale” IG posts and captions as well as (not so subtle) public bragging about how people are always clamoring to buy their shit. I get it, it’s rude and we all don’t like dealing with it but continuous acknowledgement of it really only serves as a vehicle for said collectors to have a circle jerk and be proud that on the interwebs their toys are “rare” and “wanted”. Just ignore it and move on. Others who add their voice to the chorus are just swapping hands in the circle jerk. Not anyone on this thread but I’ve seen many a fuckhead act out this power fantasy then eventually cash in the next day when the novelty wears off. edit: no fugly toy was posted so uh here here you go I dug the original but the izu esque melted paint made this dude uglyyyyyy
I... I think this is a toy... Looks like it has arm joints, anyway... Edit: Pic isn’t showing up for me. Not sure what i’m doing wrong. The link takes you to a psychedelic Mario.
