Schlong makes me feel like people are just making toys now to end up in this thread. Or this nonsense has reached its logical conclusion.
Is the toy itself supposed to look like a penis and scrotum? Because the header art does, but the toy doesn't really resemble whats on the header, and doesn't really look like a schlong outside of the extending neck.
“Heads sculpted in Japan.” Is that an attempt to pull the wool over our eyes for a Chinese made toy? This isn’t the worst, it’s just thematically overdone and it’s kinda surprising it has Izu’s involvement.
Planet - X is pretty openly known for producing in China, so I think maybe the disclaimer is mainly to authenticate that Izumo did sculpt these? I’m pretty surprised to his involvement with this project myself! I wouldn’t mind seein’ the pink head on the left atop a Toxic/Flesh Eater body, but the purple right side doesn’t do anything for me.
Yeah perhaps the heads could be salvaged. Again, not massive on them but upon reinspection the neck doesn’t seem to have any resemblance of a seamless connection to the heads.
Now that you’ve pointed it out I’m wondering if those heads were initially intended for something else, and ended up on the THC as an afterthought?
I'm seeing this more and more often with mass produced merchandise that comes into my workplace as well - people are omitting "Made in China" or are being a little sneaky with 'Designed in..' etc. Asia have been sucking on that Izumo 'schlong' for years now.. he's had what a hundred shows in the region over the past few years? He did that weird chainsaw hand thing that I keep seeing on Mandarake in red/white marble.. that was a Chinese maker right? Hardcore Toys or whatever Just give that one-horned head to Rampage to make his little ugly unicorn figures with
@badteethcomics That would be Playstudio Vinyl. I think the owner/operator is based out of Hong Kong, but I can’t speak to where he produces regionally. Having so many collabs with Izumo and Punk Drunkers I’d wager at least some of the figures are Japan produced?
Planet X have done a few colabs with Japanese creators more recently, and are doing a fully licensed Baltan figure soon. I suppose it's natural progression. I'm not a fan of their stuff, it always seems very derivative and non-personal, but you can't deny they've certainly made waves.
Uh, maybe slap a Spoiler on that bedick'd Chewie, for the sake of us desk jockeys. Most of the dong-having toys in this thread wouldn't be immediately recognizable for what they are by a random passing co-worker, but that one... not so SFW. Please und thanks.
