" AMERICAN IDOLS " .......... I am not sure if this is where I should post this, as I am certainly no ones idol, but I am an American designer. So WTF it must be at least 1/2 right. I want to share this with the fans of this forum because this is where I grew up on RFSO and also to be able to offer the first colorway of my first production vinyl figure to the collectors here first, assuming some of you would be interested. PLEASE give me your comments here. I will add updated picts. and info as production moves along. Plaseebo Custom is pleased to announce our first limited edition rotocast vinyl figure is now in production. The figure," PLASEEBO", also the namesake of our studio, was designed and sculpted by Bob Conge. The eight inch figure will be entombed in its own clear vinyl Sarcophagus, but can be easily removed and posed in a sitting or prone position. In the interest of collectors, our colorway editions will be extremely limited to a total of eighty, with only forty available in each the US and Japan. Some special artist editions will be limited to as few as ten. Plaseebo is in the tooling stage and the first edition should be available in December. This is a synopsis of the story of Plaseebo, a legend on which the character development of the Plaseebo figure was based. " AWAKEN " (The Legend of Plaseebo ) The Legend of Plaseebo begins with the birth of Tsu during the great storm of 2039 BC on the island of Kyushu in the archipelago known today as Japan. It tells the story of how Tsu, an unwanted Japanese dwarf at the age of ten, sails five thousand miles and flies another three thousand to arrive in the Egyptian city of Coptos where he is believed to be their reincarnated Pharaoh, Plaseebo. After his fifty seven year reign, Plaseebo lies entombed in a great pyramid for three thousand years while his spirit longs for the soil of his birthplace, Japan. Finally, in 1803 AD two archeologists break into his burial chamber and awaken the Mummy Plaseebo, who to this day roams the earth in search of his homeland. In 2004 Plaseebo became the namesake of our studio -- Plaseebo Custom. Plaseebo Plaseebo looks really interesting, and I am interested in getting one of the first ones. Can you send me more info to my professional email: jhhughey@yahoo.com? Also, put me on any list that you might have as interested in purchasing one. Do you have any idea what they will retail at yet? Thanks, and regards, Harmond Hughey
bob, looks cool! yeah, i'm interested. Like to see more pics or drawings. Interested to know what the first colorways would be. It would be sick if you had the clear coffin with a clear mummy in some color.. post more pics when you get 'em! awesome work!
Hey guys, thanks for your support, its good to know I am not alone out here. Check: http://www.vinylpulse.com/ today for picts of the sculpts.
Really, really interesting. The texture of the gauze bandages is especially cool, and it's got a nice solid look to it. I'd definitely be up for one - what colors were you thinking of?
I am still not sure which colorway will be first, but I am leaning toward a clear violet tint Sarcophagus with a blue GID vinyl Plaseebo figure that has a deep violet wash and wipe patina. How does that sound?
You had me at GID. If possible, give us poor RFSOers first shot at these, but if that's not possible just give us a heads-up.
It is my intention to offer the first colorway to the members of the forum first and I am building a list from this thread and emails I receive of everyone who has said they were interested. The final price is still up in the air somewhat, but I will post it as soon as I know it can be firm. Thanks
Was waiting to see some actual sculpts before commenting (the sketch is real nice). It looks to be a great toy Bob. Something very different to shite swimming about out there for sure. I love the combo set with the sarcophagus. Extra points on that. Very bloody creepy too. The baby legs give me chills I must admit. Real nice work. Good luck.
