Boba Fett offer (with printable order form) is now up: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/free-star- ... tt-figure/ UPCs from those cheap two-packs of basic figures will work, so you can get one of these by only spending about $30.
anyone have the original boba fett with the firing missle before they discontinued it because children were firing it into there eyes ?
Those Fett stories are urban legends, the rocket firing only went up to the test shot and no mass production done. The recall was an industry move to stop all spring powered launching toys. A related incident was reported when a kid got hurt from some other ‘rocket’ firing toy, and the toy in question was Mattel’s Viper launcher.
The incident with the Galactica toy was what prompted Kenner to remove the missile firing feature. There were never any missile firing Boba Fetts released to the public, although on some of the European issues the missile will pop out if you yank hard enough.
^ I was angry for years, thinking that they sent me a regular one because I was outside the USA or did something wrong filling the coupon ...
Good comparison pics comparing the new mailaway Fett with the vintage figure: http://www.sgcollect.com/forum/index.ph ... opic=63176
Star Wars continuity problem: 1995 book says Tusken Raiders hide their gender by wearing the same clothes. Episode II toy shows "female Tusken Raider w/ child" with baby carrier on her back!! Another thread said Lucas maintains tight control over the Universe... Any other discrepancies?
Tons. Lucas has pretty much left the "expanded universe" to the ministrations of his licensing people with only a few directives. As far as he's concerned, his "canon" is what's in the films (which still contradict one another a little bit), and to a lesser extent, the modern prequel-centered TV shows (which contradict each other a little more). To him, books and comics and games don't count. I believe as far as Lucas is concerned, Boba Fett died in the Sarlacc. And as Sigmund Freud once said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a giant vagina with teeth in the desert."
I got the "Tomart SW price guide" and there is a funny anecdote about SW rushing toys to market including a puzzle that no one could put together because it was mostly little stars and black space... Good times for sure
That's awesome! I took a similar picture a while back when that new Boba Fett came out! It's great to see how these toys have changed over the years.
^^^^ that's at my parents house somewhere, thanks for the reminder. Those micro figures are pretty rad. Isn't their a mini Han imthe mini carbonite.?
I love the design of the Slave 1, but if I were a bounty hunter that's not what I'd be flying. Just saying
Exactly. And it wasn't a missile being shot in the eye. A kid in Georgia actually died from choking on a missile. Parents groups mobilized. And from that moment onwards, no more missile launching toys. This site doesn’t cite the source, but the events are accurate.
