    Anybody into these guys?

I just got Warp Riders yesterday and I've listened to it a few times through. I like it, but not as much as Age of Winters. Still, pretty great, if you like them already.

I've only heard a few of the songs, and based on those it seems that Age of Winters is still their best album. Because this album is sci-fi themed I was hoping for more from it. Though maybe it'll slowly reveal itself over multiple (and FULL) listens...but I'm doubtful. Still, I'm looking forward to getting it...and depending on ticket prices may go see them when they come through town.

yea, just saw that it was sci fi themed (love the artwork for the album and their tour), but the music (from what i've heard so far) isn't as good as a.o.w.

I prefer Gods of the Earth to Age of Winters, for some reason. I actually have to say that GotE is one of my favorite albums and I was severely disappointed and turned off when I heard the sample of Tres Brujas from Warp Riders. That being said, once I gave the whole album a few open-minded listens, I feel in love. It's a much different sound, but still trademark the Sword, if that makes sense, with very clean and polished production (much better than their previous work).

    Part one of a video triptych, #1 being Tres Brujas -- <a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http://ow.ly/2tYD8\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href);return false;\">http://ow.ly/2tYD8</a>

Haven't listened to it other than tres brujas but read a couple articles. They said they are slowing it down on purpose to be unique. ? The said they don't want to be like Lamb Of God. They said Austin (their home base) is just another gig...

    Album art is grrrreat.

I saw them at Bonnaroo a few years ago, they were cool. But I can't really get into their albums... I absolutely love the new album cover though! I almost bought it just for the old school 70's artwork...

I just picked up the new album but haven't given it a proper listen yet. But from my 1st spin, I am digging it. I also like the production of this album much more than the last two. I always felt that the cymbals were mixed too high on the previous albums. A plus is also Cronise's vocals; they're not lost in the mix.

After a few more rotations, I'm really loving some of the songs on this album. Tres Brujas is actually not among my favorites, but I do like it. Lawless Lands is really working for me.

I described The Sword to a friend of mine as what a band founded by Frazetta and Tolkien would sound like. With this album it sounds as though Frank Herbert has joined the band.

The sci-fi theme is nicely done. There are some interesting lyrics and there isn't a lame attempt at sounding futuristic. Still the same great Sword power riffs, but with a bit more polish and variety.

I'm so glad I picked this album up!
