Oh wow so and so has that toy and I really NEED it! That toyz da bomb. Where can I getz one? +1 Agreed. It's so limited I HAVE TO HAVE IT! I'll trade you some dunnnneeeez for that anrakus. Seriously this is all shit that I have received in pm's about my anraku collection. Now you know why so many great toy collectors dont post here anymore. No I don't care if you want anraku and can't find it. No I'm not going to sell it to you, mostly because I know you'll sell it in a week on ebay or the FS section for twice what you paid for it.
I shall name him, drum roll............................................................................................... Long Dong Silver okay, carry on........
Come on guys, the seller posted the toy at less than retail. Seems like an honest E-Bayer too me. I couldn't imagine shill bidding.
He's always been cool with me. He's offered me deals on my "wants" for at, around or below "retail" and NOT just on toys that no one cares about anymore but somewhat popular ones too along the lines of this auction. The only way I can see shilling is if he changed his mind and wanted to keep it so he had a bid placed sky high. What's nuts, is if that IS true, than someone ELSE was willing to get pretty damned high themselves! I can't say either way, just putting my experience with the guy out there. I doubt straight shilling though, look at how nuts people went for Maza and there's already way mroe versions of that thing than ol' drilly here. Crazy limits are set and others take them as what something's "worth" instead of just being patient and waiting it out.
So correct if me I'm wrong, but that seller is a member here correct? If that is indeed the case, I'm sorry, but I think it's lame that they sell this stuff on eBay for the obvious reason of trying to make as much money as possible when they're part of a community that collects it and they're fortunate enough to be on a list that allows them to get it at cost. Maybe I'm mistaken and if so my apologies, but if not, that's a douche move if you ask me.
It is also my understanding that the seller is a member on this board. I agree that it's a total douchebag move to ebay Anraku especially if they have been selectively and privately emailed a solicitation to purchase pieces. That move completely disrespects the emailer or solicitor and Anraku. Best to negotiate with someone offline or trade it. But who is to say. Maybe they maxed out their credit cards or were laid off. Mr. Anraku should write numbers on the bottom like Mr. Bemon. Would make it easier to track the flippage
For the record, I did offer it to a board member who turned it down. And no shill bidding was involved. At least two board members, who shall remain nameless, were involved in bidding this thing up. I have sold Anraku before on the board and off, with the majority of them selling for under $200. Nothing like this has happened before with my sales. I think the recent Maza/Bemon craze is making its way to other toy lines. As for being "fortunate" to be on the list, I was buying Anraku before there was a "list".
I'm not jumping on one side or the other but....haven't people been taken off the Anraku list for reselling? I thought i read that at some point somewhere....(I could very well be wrong though.)
