Awesome- we can have a huge Skullbrain drink up! Also the book rules again- I am a big fan of Ghibli ( especially the old skool stuff- Nausicca and Laputa and managed to book tickets to go to the muesuem. Using the original subway map and the awesome simplified skimatic I have managed to plan my route. Maybe in the future editions of the book include a little thing about the Ghibli muesuem, or maybe it is a little too mainstream? but the station is literally 2 stops away from being included in the skimatic. Thanks again S7!
why don't we get a bunch of folks together to go to the Ultraman festival then hit an Izakaya. If you guys pick a date - I will set it up.
Sounds awesome- im in and so is my girl! Which days is it on and also do we need to get some money to you in advance or can you buy tickets on the door? Thanks again Data!
That sounds awesome to me! Do you maybe fancy a trip to the RxH shop at some point also? I think im gonna have to buy my GF dinner for letting me go/ coming with me to the Con. Hope theres a Mac D's nearby
That sounds Groovy! Whoo hooo! Well finalise a bit nearer the time! but I am most definitly in! Kool with you Andy and Danlord?
Tokyo is amazing! Hitting the Ultraman con tomorrow its gonna be awesome! So much stuff out here its amazing- my favorite place has to be Nakano, so much stuff there I nearly passed out, its everywhere you look! Im also thinking- as you guys advice was so good, I am going to Kyoto on Wednesday, does anyone have any recomendations for there? Is there a Mandarake there? Also Im gonna be in Hong Kong for a few days- anyone been there? Anything worth checking out on the toy front? Aswell as Kaiju I also like Tim Tsui toys, I know he is based in HK.
Only toy store I know of in Kyoto is TRU. There's so much other great things there, though. Kiyomizudera, Gion, bamboo forests of Arashiyama, even Kyoto Station. http://wikitravel.org/en/Kyoto
My recommendation for Kyoto is going the opposite direction and visiting Kobe instead. Kyoto is pretty, but I find it a bit too commercialized. Kobe is less...pretensious, I guess. If you have a couple of extra days, skip both of them and shinkansen it to Hiroshima. One of my favorite places in Japan. For Hong Kong, Mong Kok is the area with a lot of shops. Run a search on kidrobot.com. There are a few threads about HK toy shops. Better yet, skip HK and go to Taiwan instead.
