Cool, I will be picking them up.............................FOR ME MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

OK, Not to TOTALLY de-rail this "disguised" want thread, but what's going on with people going to TKII? We've been lightly discussing it in the "Upcoming Shows" thread, and I don't wanna just keep pming the same 3 people about it vs. just having a conversation openly. Meet up? When, where? What time do you nerds wanna get in line for exclusives? I'm nerdcore and can wait hours in a line outside, cold, rain, whatever. Just wasn't sure if people wanted to meet a different day so we can spend a whole day in line waiting to beat the flippers or what?

Here's what I'D prefer- meeting the day before just so I can go wait in line in the wee AM hours to get my toys, however I understand a lot of people aren't into that. Also I CAN'T do shit AFTER the show, I'll have "watch the baby while my wife goes and watches some aging hippster douches stare at their feet on stage" duty so I can't hang that day, also my sister is coming into town the day before but I can plan on something either the day before OR after. Again, I CAN hang out the day of, but want to hit the line nice and early and beat the flipper scum bags out of place.

Thoughts? Solid plans? It's coming up!

i'm making the drive and would love to meet up with you bd, as well as anyone else. its a five hour trip for me and i have school on friday, so the best case scenario is to leave at like five or six in the morning on saturday and get up there around 11am. i'd be down for lunch before lining up, or i could grab something to eat on the way and just chill in line the whole time until the show. either way, i'd like to hang with some boardies while still securing a rather early spot in line. i didn't get to toy karma 1 until a half an hour before the show, and hence i was about 45th in line and missed some cool stuff. plus i have a feeling this is going to be a lot bigger and have more peeps attending than the first one a couple years ago.

My wife and I are getting in the day before and might be up for something. At Toy Karma 1 they started handing out line numbers at noon then people took their spot in line at 7:30. Have not heard what the system will be this year. Was not a whole lot of stuff in the general area except a very cool Mexican/western wear store.

    Alcalas kicks ass!

That's cool they got numbers, if they do that I'm getting there early, get my #, than we can all go eat lunch/dinner/whatever and come back.

PLEASE no lottery system, that's wrong, those willing to make the hard, early AM wait should get first dibs! I love waiting outside for crap early in the morning and getting the random jag-hole asking "what are you waiting for?"

Well, I guess if it's the same as last year I'm planning to get there early, get a number than we can all meet up or whatever until we gotta get back. Loose plan for me at least.

    Hey BD6969,
It's good to hear that you are making it to TK this year. I'll be there again this year, so it'll be cool to finally meet.
I don't think Roto will do lottery numbers, just line numbers to save your spot in line. Roto's neighbors probably don't want a bunch of toy degenerates loitering out front all day

From Aug 23 on I should be a solid fixture of CASK, TKII is my first strike!

Sounds good, line up-nerd out-get #'d-eat fatty crap that will make me fart a lot at TKII-go back to TKII-fart and nerd out more. It's a plan.

Again, I'm open to eating anywhere, we can decide on the fly or plan. I WON'T have my car however, my wife is snagging it from me, but I'm cool for CTA or walking or whatever anyone wants. Should be fun!

it would be cool if people brought some possible trade stuff as well.
we could do some trades or just show off some rad pieces over lunch.

i'll probably bring a few pieces in my backpack, you guys should too!

There is no such thing as a solid fixure of CASK, we are some lazy bastards

There are millions of places to eat within walking distance from Roto, so we should all definitely get some food (and booze, if that's how you roll).

    Sounds good!

Maybe we ought to fix that...a monthly CASK meet and greet...or every other month maybe? Meet up, show off new or old finds, eat, drink...sounds good to me!

Every OTHER month? CMON! I'm pretty busy with school, a baby & wife, moving, work but I think ONCE a month is fair, look at those crazy bastards out west! They all have a lot going on too! Even if we don't have "trades" we can have show off sessions, etc.

There are so many toys out there and we all can't POSSIBLY collect all of the same crap, so being able to see FIRST HAND a lot of stuff would really be cool, even if I didn't get sold on collecting it! Plus one offs, HP's, etc, let them get some air and have others appreciate it!

It's a HORRIBLY EASY city to get around and personally, even with my schedule, I can crank something out once a month. Maybe it's because I'm so starved for any other people who have interest in these from living somewhere where even collecting Star Wars is considered "weird" but I'm hoping things get lit up in Chicago after TKII a bit more.

Definently want to meet up on Sat I've got legoomba staying with me so we will both be there. Kirby will it be the same as last year or will we be nerdlining it all day. I would prefer a place holder so we can all go hang out and get some food or whatever

OK, Well I'd say, assuming it's the line-holder-number-deal from last year, we all get there at whatever nerdly early hour, wait, get our numbers and than we can decide where to eat/etc. on the spot?

I think once we get some clear idea of how it might be (#'s, etc?) we can make a clear plan.

Line numbers handed out starting when we open at Noon Saturday. Line back up at 6pm. Exclusive sales start at 7pm.

If you're looking to pick up one of the exhibit pieces (not the exclusives) then get on the Gallery Preview email list. That'll go out Wednesday before the opening with any luck.

Alarm is set can't wait for this. Awesome, so I assume anyone wanting to meet up will be at roto at noon. Do we want to do a trade, get some lunch and then hang out?

Yeah everyone get there at noon, I'll be there earlier 8) muwahahahaha!

I think that's a good plan though. It's pretty easy to improvise on lunch IMO, I'm not sure if I'll have any trades, but we'll see, maybe I'll just bring some junk for fun. Once we all get numbers, though, I'm good to hang out most of the day until the show. My wife might not be going to her concert either so I may have my car and be able to hang later after the show too.

Yes, the MG5 is one of the exclusives...so it will be first available to attendees of the opening. Online later if any are left.

Nice attempt at misdirection there Geo. The opening is a Saturday evening, though you are more than welcome to come view the exhibit on Sunday 12-5pm.

I would be totally down for a monthly meeting, especially now that I live in chicago. I think that kirby planning it is gonna be a little much though. If we could use roto for a meeting place, that would be awesome considering there is plenty going on in that area we could do a meet up and then go get some lunch. Or do like one month lunch and the next some kind of night activity like a bar or whatever.
