I somehow doubt a toy that was all hype and zero substance would make it to 22 pages.

I'm no completist, but there are a few I absolutely love. Fortunately, I wasn't crazy enough to pay the flipper prices for these when they were at their height...but regardless of all that, these are damn cool toys.

Looking forward to the cycloptic monkey and flying saucer.

Yeah, that was the way to go. All but the first 5 (the orange is dead to me) can be had, it seems, for dirt cheap!

I still would like to get a ufo ship. Won't fit on my shelf so it'll be separate but I think it looks pretty cool.

I think these are completely stupid and way overhyped. I love martians and sci-fi pulp, but these are obnoxiously overpriced for what they are. I actually dig the idea and the design, but what they sell for can't be justified whatsoever.

I know the whole, "to each his own," thing comes into play here, and while I bite my tongue with a lot of the kaiju I see around here, I can't with these. They should be 5-10 bucks a piece.

That all depends on what someone paid for them. I think it's ridiculous to pay $40 for a miniature version of an exisiting RxH figure.

I completely agree. I absolutely LOVE these guys but there's no way I'd pay the prices they're selling for. Hell, I couldn't even bring myself to pay $29 for the one Slack was selling (which was a great price considering)! I think these would be the coolest toy if they were mass produced and sold cheaply. The look is really cool, but the price is not.

I'm still missing a bunch (due to brokeness and not being able to pick them up upon release) and I'm glad the hype is dead for now.

cornbluth, NT...I'm not even remotely interesting in defending these particular toys as I just don't care...

But are you kidding me? Seriously?

Take a step back and look at this hobby, guys. We're all idiots.

Weak rationale. Why bother posting on any messageboard with such an "over it" attitude? And no one called anyone else an idiot except you. Speak for yourself.

So buying "stupid," "overhyped," and "obnoxiously overpriced" Troopers is smart then...?

Whether you like each and every design that comes out, you have to concede that we're all a little crazy for spending this kind of money on toys. I'll be the first to admit that.

I mean, I guess, so now I can't have an relevant opinion about toys because I'm a crazy idiot who buys toys? And I shouldn't post my opinions on a messageboard about toys which caters to other crazy idiots who buy toys?

Eh, everyone has their opinion, and should be allowed it (as well as get shit for it). The definition of "overhyped" and "obnoxiously overpriced" for me are Usugrow and Kaws.

You've got it half right. Part of the toy collector maturation process is a recognition that what we do is inherently immature. Once you have realized this you are further along on your path towards satori. (We all achieved this stage of enlightenment at Toybox DX years ago. ;p)

Nobody's saying that you're not entitled to your own opinions about toys, though, nor is anyone saying that you shouldn't post them here.
