I was going to post these in Lorne's "What's it all about" thread because it's...such a great thread, and what I was writing about was really appropriate there. But I had too many pics and didn't want to overwhelm. Anyway....here goes...

Whether it's a great underground or mini comic, zine from an artist or writer like Spain Rodriguez or Jeffery Brown, to an independent artist / toy maker like Anraku, Le Merde or Lamour Supreme, the geographical origins be it eastern or western, don't have any bearing on the excitement I'm filled when discovering the refreshing and distinctive work of a new artist for the first time. And I don't necessarily mean "new" to the scene because some artist can go undiscovered for a long time...just new to me and my eyeballs that are popping out of my skull, and "new" to the subconscious and conscious feelings and memories newly discovered art can evoke. Be it dark, humorous pieces with thought provoking social statements by Bansky or the retro, vintage quality a Butanohana figure exhudes reminding one of days/things gone past, certain artists can spark or ignite a special and deep excitement in us reserved not for everyday muses but for experiencing something different, something sort of magical, something unique to ones self and something that you can't quite decipher but it creeps in your viens. This is what Sean & Cliff's (aka Monstrehero) work especially the "Victim" has done for me. I don't know what their thoughts were behind this creation, it could be something deep or it's just a f'd up zombie dude in flames...it really doesn't matter to me. All I know is the "Victim" hit me hard and triggered a freight train of self deprecating and reflection and I fucking love it!

I had missed out on the first crazy clear blue "Bleuglow" release of the "Victim" a short while ago so I contacted Sean & Cliff' and asked if they were releasing anymore.
They said they weren't going to of that specific version but would accept a commission.

My eyeballs popped out of my skull.

I won't ramble anymore, check out my crappy pics, in person these are mind blowing.

    Thanks Sean & Cliff!

Awesome Ralph! Refreshing are those 'pyro' sktetches/illustrations.

I guess perspectives play a big difference. I appreciate your take on how re-discovered or undiscovered art presents itself in certain way. Its always awesome to trip on a particular art or artist or even a toy design and later on appreciated by others.
Affirmation may come late, but its totally ok.

Congratulations! I was wondering who got these pieces when I saw them on the Monetrehero blog. Your assessment of Cliff & Sean work and the effect it can have is spot on and your one lucky man to have picked up this special custom set.
I was lucky enough to get one of the Blueglow Victims to go with the Toxic Vacation Victim, White Skullmaster, green gid Veteran, a couple of Pantsmonstre, and a group of Dumster monsters. As you can probably tell I can't get enough of these guys and look forward to seeing what they have coming up... INTERGALADIATOR!

These are awesome! I think this is what its about for all of us right? Especially those that may have seen it all or think they have. Its always refreshing to see new art, and especially able to collect it then share it with the world

Haha not that I am saying I have seen it ALL, at ALL. I am exposed to and learning about stuff all the time, especially in this weird vinyl world!
