A variation of this thread has existed a few times before, but thought I would bring it up again as I am always interested to see what people are currently listening to. Here is my list. TOOL Isis Slayer Old Man Gloom Jesu Pelican old Metallica Pantera Nine Inch Nails Danzig Meshuggah Deftones Melvins Cult of Luna

Can't stop listening to the new Jesu, I also like the new Lewd Acts. It's not out but I got hooked up, I love it.
Nothing. I'm so bored, seriously, I can't find anything, old or new, to get me going. Not that I dislike my old favorites, but I'm just kinda "meh" with everything. I need some new thrills. Open to suggestions for anything NOT political/ reggae/ ska/ "shoe-gazer" esque or slow.
The Modern Lovers - a lot. Jonathan Richman is a genius and was so far ahead of his time. The missing link between the VU and Sex Pistols.
Good choice man! Jonathan Richman is genius indeed. His Mega HIts album is a staple on my daily dose of IPOD music.
Almost th same here - except I hate Carp. Forest. I Think they're clowns. Try Amok, Vargr or Menace Ruine instead
Do you have "Live at the Longbranch"? (It's on that French label that used to be New Rose). It's amazing - recorded live in Berkeley and Cambridge before the Modern Lovers debut LP came out. It's dark and angry in places along with plenty of helpings of Jonathan's trademark quirkiness and pop sensibilities. I think the same live recordings were released as "Modern Lovers: Precise Modern Lovers Order" on another label. It's always fun to pull some old records from the shelf that I haven't listened to in a while - it's like discovering that music all over again. I also am listening to a lot of Istanbul lounge/chill-out compilations these days having visited that fair city a few months ago - the music is great and reminds me of the trip.
Fucked up - the new album Rocket from the crypt - All systems go vol 3 Cloak/dagger - New stuff avail - satiate archers of loaf - vee vee
Lakim Shabazz - Rare & Unreleased The Coup - Pick A Bigger Weapon Money Boss Players - Ghetto Chronicle Daily OC - Word Life Eddie Hazel - Games, Dames & Guitar Thangs Digital Underground - Sons Of The P The ARE - Manipulated Marauders
The Mega Hits album contains mostly live recordings ( i suspect these are from his Berkely and Cambridge performances)...I agree, the strumming and overall feel of the songs are a bit punk-heavy....but with awesome quirky pop hook sensibilities by Richman. I don't know...I see him as a Goofy David Byrne---Byrne by the way is another hero for me. Been listening to.. Warsaw--for the past 4 months or so Stereolab-Peng! album The Wedding Present-The BBC Sessions album Ktchens of Distinction-The Death of Cool album Siouxie and the Banshees-Kaleidoscope album Devo-Freedom of Choice album

I have another one and I _really_ don't like it.. think it's the self-titled one cursed - I, II, III and phoenix bodies - raise the bullshit flag. i am in love with phoenix bodies right now i'm getting a great balzac history lesson/initiation
I would love to see them, but they are not currently touring the States. In fact I don't think they have toured the US since 2005. I hope they come back soon.
