What I'm thinking about tonight.......

Just to explain my reasons for the elitist vibe. It's the overall opinion of KR here. This stands out like a sore thumb. Just because people on that board like different toys doesn't mean you can hate on them or think you're superior. Why even waste your time saying anything about it if it's just going to be negative and hateful? Doesn't make sense to me. I for one wouldn't even be into JP vinyl without KR introducing me.

Its all good man I dont feel your picking on me. Infact like you noticed the little bullshit didnt bother me much at all in the begining.

When I first started posting here I was so KR made that I beat around the bush instead of saying what I really wanted to because of there bullshit rules and I hated that. Its not how I am, I always say what I feel sometimes I'm wrong and sometimes I'm right but atleat I say what I really mean.

But now I say what I feel instead of kissing ass becuase I can. And No matter what I treat others the way I want to be treated. If I break your balls you have all the right in the world to call me out for it. But bet your ass if I feel right I will let you know it. But in the end its all love and we forgive and forget and move on.

I think the new people that come here have to understand this isnt like every other messgae board. The people here become good friends and dont want assholes to fuck that up. Its a place where real collectors take care of there own. We dont rip eachother off but look out for each other.

And when I say "rules" I say that loosley. What I mean is new people come here and learn how to act right. KR really does fuck up a new collectors perspective on how the collectors should treat each other.

I think this is the first place where if I dont win something but another member does I'm honestlyhappy because I know its not going to end up on ebay at tripple the price.


This is the main reason I like it here instead of KR. The people set the rules not the man. And becasue so you can be yourself and not have to kiss ass or watch what you say. You become a much realer person rather than just a bunch or words on the internet.

Once you see past the little bullshit in the begining you will see just how great the people are here. I think thats why alot of new members stick through the "hazing" in the begining.

This is by far the best messgae board on the internet. And I would hate to act different because some new people cant handle it.

Because if so then this place would become just like everywhere else.

Can we take a bit easier on em .... I guess but then what would cesar do

lots of us here are long time posters at KR and its definitely gone down the shitter in more way than one..If we reference it it's only to be sure it doesnt happen here...

 

I am glad you made this post Muton. I had been a member of the board for some time before I ever posted. The posts from some board members seemed very unwelcoming, and some downright shitty. After attending SDCC and meeting many of the skullbrain members, I felt very differently about the general attitude on the board. Although some people may come across as elitist and judgemental, I know that most of the members of this board are great people. They are much more interested in your passion and interest in toys, and less quick to judge based on what you know or what you may have in your collection.

Ok. I'm one of the KR haters. And as far as I'm concerned they've earned my distaste. Its not even KR as a whole but that board has been over run with consumers not collectors. I know the moderators do one hell of a job trying to keep the peace but that place is getting to be toy hell on a good day. And every once in a while I see that KR mentality seep in here and it sucks.

It's simple. If you like [expletive deleted] you can post about them on KR. If you like SB, RealxHead, etc, post here. I'm not going to go on the Yankee's website and talk up the Cubs.

Its not snobbery. It is an appreciation for the whole of the design which, to me, goes much deeper than some of the other toys out there. That's why I post here and not there.

 

If it helps any-this elitism that people see may also be the fact that a core group of us here have been very good friends for quite a while now too..Long before this board was around, so theres a definite history w.a bunch of us..I've made some great life time friends along w/some great acquaintenances also...Just chill, relax and bust some balls w/us....It's all good...

 

This is definitely an interesting thread to read...

I came to this board via the "debug mode" board because of a general curiosity and interest in the toys...I stayed because the members were cool---cool in the sense that they would give honest answers if you asked a question and not try to rip you off if you were looking for a toy...total bunch of nerds, otherwise! . The knowledge and passion for toys on this board is amazing, and, if a new member takes the time to read through threads to get a feel of things prior to posting, he or she should have a great time here...if not, that person will probably move along...

Some of the collections that board members here have assembled are among the best of their kind on the planet, and that's no exaggeration. It is a pleasure for me to be able to see these collections, learn from the collectors, and, possibly, pick up a piece or two for my own collection.

Skullbrain.org rocks, and my sincere appreciation goes out to Ramos and the rest of S7 crew for making this possible.

 

This is the best board ever.

I like how people who once used to say JP toys were shit and "didn't get it" and now they're experts on Kaiju and when we express our opinions on other boards about some sort of artist related "Neo Kaiju" we're treated like we don't know what the fuck we're talking about.


We gotta keep our pimp arms strong. Dig?
