Spot on... except for that grammy talk. Kanye a genius????? He is the KR of the music world, full of hype and fake as fuck.
You may be right, but you have to agree the Grammy is more official than what ever MTV is giving away.
I think it's mean mainly cuz whatever all of us think, sitting here 20-45 with years of music passion and world perspective behind us, allowing us to critique MTV etc, at the end of the day, that was a 19 year old girl, who quite rightly was chuffed to bits that she won something from and on MTV, that must have been pretty crushing. I couldn't list a single song Kanye West sings, so whoever he is, I think it's pretty fucked that he could do that to a kid. To me, she sounds like a Avril Lavigne knock off, but she's still a kid. Her mother should have decked KW. THAT would have been class.
Kanye is a piece of shit. His ego left the building a long time ago. Slightly entertaining though, as crazy celebrities tend to be. But entertaining at the expense of others is never cool.
A genius? More like an arrogant wanker beat maker. He's been known to use a ghostwriter now and then too. Douchebag
Haha, ouch. I found the whole thing amusing just because it had such an air of being pre-planned by MTV. They pulled the same shit with Sacha Baron Cohen and Eminem in June that turned out to be 100% staged, and I wouldn't put it past them to humiliate a 19 year old in front of thousands of people just to try to remain "hip" and "relevant" (neither of which MTV has been for a LONG time).
Just because of the other SNL videos posted here. The best thing SNL had done in years and years http://www.hulu.com/watch/72434/saturda ... r-censored Ok, back to Kanye trashing
A-fucking-men! The only good thing Kanye has ever done is say GW Bush hates black people. Outside of that moment everything about him has sucked. His raps are lame and his beats are weak.
I couldn't name one Kanye West track, and I could give a shit about Taylor Swift or "popular music". BUT even someone who ignores all these genres completely knows that Kanye West is a complete douchebag, and is so desperate for attention he'll do or say just about anything. Translation: "Hi I'm Kanye West, I'm a product of the media and I have no discernible talent!"
I love Kanye, but totally accept that he is fucking ridiculously insane. It's that insanity that makes me like him even more. It is the most entertaining shit to see someone without any filters between his brain and his mouth. He is an instant train wreck and I couldn't be any happier about watching every stupid thing he's done! Sign me up for the Kanye channel where we just mainline his retarded ego right into my eyeballs.
It's easy to be called a genius in hiphop. All you have to do is switch up your cadence and use samples from non traditional sources. "Yeezy" just a temper tantrum having, autotuned, sissy brat!
someone please tell me what makes the beyonce video so great? all i see is a dance routine with flashy editing.
I thought it had some nice moves. the energy was always there. It kept my attention, and when it was over, I wanted to see it again. I think the beauty of it is how effective it is using just the basics--and at the same time, I feel like it's something I haven't seen before. and when watching it, I liked the song more or "got it". but it was probably beyonce's hotness.
I actually like that 18 years song, not sure what it's called. Not really the music, it's not my thing. But the lyrics are funny. 18 years, 18 years, and on the kid's 18th birthday, you find out its not yours... something like that. Or is that a Jaime Foxx song? Who the hell is Taylor Swift?
Exactly! I had never heard of her before either. Really, this is probably the best thing that could have happened for her. So many people who didn't know her name before know it now. If it wasn't staged then it was a serious dick move but really she should probably thank West for all this.
So now self absorbed celebrities that crave absolute attention can use insanity/eccentricity/insert term here for a lack of consideration and awareness of how their actions might effect others. I'm not qualified to say whether he or Taylor Swift are talented or not, and I pretty much don't care what each does musically, but he strikes me as a spoiled, whiny, inconsiderate moron. Beyonce's acknowledgement of the kid during her speech was pure class.
yeah.. the more you think of it, the more likely it was staged. kanye west so happened to be on leno's first show, also just announced his upcoming tour & a taylor swift sex tape would not sit well with her current fanbase, so this is the next best thing.
