Those bronze Disected boxes ARE sweet! Maybe a photo of the actual piece would swing me from wanting the Accomplice more. Just look at that finish on the bronze! I really dig this idea. And editioning the bronze is great, rather than one-offs. But it's also a good thing the edition is low...with bronze it's gotta be. I would rather miss out on an edition of 6-10 than have the possibility of getting one in an edition of 100+. That said - anyone in Japan wanna help me score one?

Hey this question is for anyone who might know the answer, but I've kinda looked around and dont know and answer yet.....

Is this "Bronze" to be ACTUAL metal or just bronze colored vinyl? Cuz if they are really bronze metal, wont they weigh almost 20- 30lbs each? and wouldn't a wooden box have to hold them? unlike the bronze dissect "cardboard" box in that picture?

I think if they are bronze as in metal, they are a huge step into the statue world of art and indeed would be a great catch. On the other hand if they are just vinyl painted bronze I don't really see that much excitement for it. But thats just me.

    Anyone else?

And I'm sure the boxes will be wood, rather than cardboard - it looks like wood in the photo pirovino posted.
And yes - actual bronze will be amazing!

Id rather not know about it because i know theres no possible way I would be able to get such an extremely limited piece without a connection.

Larger bronze sculptures are hollow, with the bronze less than 1/2 inch thick, so the weight is not as great as you might think. I don't know the size of these Kaws pieces, but a 30 pound piece of bronze would be a big un'.

"Cold cast" bronze or "bronze resin" are plain old plastic with some powdered metal mixed into the plastic. For instance the Ron English McSupersized "bronzes".

Today, we get a clear shots of the hand-painted box for the Accomplice bronzie in the KAWS blog. These things look way sick. Plus, he strongly hints that these will be OF Anniversary 'surprise' releases...my info was pretty spot on...except it looks like there's at least 11 in the edition of the Accomplice; we'll see how many of the Dissected bronzie...undoubtedly, he's getting fans ready...

Hey Ronnie those look more like a silkscreens that hand painted originals on each box.

Either way these are gonna be on top 5 lists for years to come.

The line he writes in the blog, describing these pics is "I've also been painting....", so perhaps it's part screen, but certainly he calls part of the process "painting"...

bu the wrap on the edge and the slight differences from piece to piece I would say they are indeed painted.

A bronze Kaws piece in a hand painted box. These will be nice, but the cost will be staggering!! (More than a cat bank, I bet.)

Don't think I'd care for one of the actual pieces (not a big fan of either figure), but those boxes are really, really nice. I'd love to have one of those by itself. The "painted on wood" style always gets me, plus the fact that it's a nice hand-made looking box.
