98% of my collection. I have some stuff squirreled away but finally got most of it displayed. And some better shots of the newest shelves...
Here are some crappy pics (who has money for a new camera when toys need to be bought?!) of my whole collection updated since last posting to this thread a year ago. Moved the cases to the wall with the records. I think it looks nicely arranged. Arriving soon: some Yamomark minis, M1 mini hawaiian hedorah, Buta/Garg Ann. Thrashman, and clear leatherman.
Amazing shelves Chris - I love your set up Some real great scores (that I'd like!) in there I think it's time you did some GID photos
The way you mix colors together makes me giddy. Who are the two characters in the back of this pic with the flame-like heads?
It's the untapped artist in me Connell Those flame head demon guys are Sazan Seijin I think. Bear Model makes them.
holy christmas tree's...!!! I love the entire collection shots thread so much it hurts...!!! killer props going out to melek & lixx for sharing the gorgeous goods...!!!
Amazing displays Lixx. You have a great collection. Congratulations. Those are the shelves I like most : Because you have such sofubi diversity on it and Because you can't get bored with the Tokyo & Hawai colorways But you definitively need a new camera
Thanks plastic XO, I learned awhile back I liked diversity over having 100 of the same sculpt. While there are a few sculpts I'd like to be complete on (M1 Matango, Charactics Matango mini) and some I completed (M1 Sanda & Gaira, Marmit Woo) I'm always looking to add things that strike me that I don't have. I love shelves with a bunch of random characters. It's a constant war with my completist self. As far as that camera, lately it's take a turn for the worse. Outside it shoots fine, inside it has a hard time focusing on close ups. It's from 2002 so I need to upgrade. Usually it takes 5 shots just to get one semi focused. This last batch I just got frustrated and said the hell with it, hence the out of focus pics. New camera is definitely on my to do list, after a PS3
Maybe you could try to switch on the macro mode when shooting close ups. You'll have to adjust the distance you shoot from, but you might get bettter result than basic autofocus. If you can, set a higher ISO mode so that you won't get blurry pics inside when in low light exposition. And my comments on this were no to undermine the beauty of your toy set up
Thanks plastic XO. I do use macro mode when shooting toys but I'll definitely try switching to manual and adjust the ISO. Either way my resolution will suck due to the camera being so old.
Yeah, focusing suffers when you're using a P/S in low light, esp. w/ macro mode. One downside of using a higher ISO is that the photos will be a little grainy (the higher the ISO setting, the more noticeable this becomes). I know you have those steady surgeon hands, but buy a tripod! ;P
I notice my photos suddenly became grainy lately, I think I might of mistakenly changed something. Surgeon hands Daniel? You guys would laugh when I take pics with my piece of crap powershot. I have to practice tantric breathing. I've tried to master the art of pressing the shot button with the lightest of touches but it's one of those ones that needs to be really pressed and it always moves my camera slightly. Not to mention it's hard for me to focus on the image view that close. Anyhow enough of a derail...get a new camera and a tripod!
I look at all these beautiful collection's and I think to myself we sure do spend a shitload of money!! But it's worth it!!
Yeah. HP Bootleg from SDCC this year. I love it too. Joel's HP's are bad ass! And the M-16 was a great touch...
