Ikea Expedit shelves. Putting them together is a two man job, but somehow after getting so frustrated I had to go outside to blow off steam, my tiny g/f was able to finish the job. She still won't tell me how.
I put mine together by myself I have the darker ones. Only 2 cubes of toys now and they're either Medicom VCDs or Star Wars. The rest of them are books, comics, pictures, cds and other random crap. I have the 1 big one like you then 2 smaller ones and they're almost all full. My toys have moved to a new toy shelf. I love them though.
Thanks Olie and Lixx...hmm..so I guess I have a choice between Ikea and Muji. There are a few local Muji stores here, i might have to check them out first. I like it that the Ikea doesn't show drooping shelves and carries the load pretty steady.
Yup, from experience Expedits are pretty sturdy (and probably cheaper than anything at Muji). While they're great for records, they tend to be a bit dark for toys unless you install lights.
Agreed. The Expedit shelves look awesome. But as for displaying anything in them, it's tough. We use them for records, books, and a bunch of vintage cameras. Anything that is about 2-4 inches into a shelf gets really, really dark. I had tried to install recessed lighting, but it ended up looking weird. The other option for lighting is this: http://www.amazon.com/Fulcrum-LED-3-Pac ... B000R7PM36 these will stick on and are "tap" on and off. It just sucks reaching your hand into your tightly packed shelf to turn the lights on or off.
I thought mine were fine for toys, I just did a lot of stacking and layers. I still have stuff there just not most of it. I wanted a long shelf vs. a cube.
Not all your toys, but certainly has to be the best of the best! Which Nag is that? And the Secret Base is rockin it!
Thanks so much, guys! The Shedorah is incredible, I really suggest that anyone who hasn't already picked one up to get one! Also, I am the Fourth, the nag is a custom that I did!
I am the Fourth -Thanks, dude, I'm glad you like it. It's a pretty niche thing to like especially when it looks like a sewer monster haha. Shiv- Thanks! I really appreciate it! Axolotl- Here you go:
I need this rionmaru!!! That mask is awesome! Does it come with the sword? It looks like it is in pretty good shape, the cape looks whole and stays in it's place... Very nice toy!
He didn't have the sword, I've seen them come up over the years on YJA, and this is the only one I've seen in this good of shape. It's actually a bootleg, but it's very hard to find complete like this with boots, cuffs, and cape, and no marks!
Crap pic, but this is my current set up. I'm kinda stressing that the gf's are not enclosed so I might move them back into one of the other shelves soon.
I like this set up. The ghostfighters look good having some air to breath. It's only one shelf that needs regular dusting, no sweat.
I would almost trade your your custom! It looks totally like a sewer-Swamp Thing. Great job man! And that Bemon is a perfect mix!
Pizza- Love that second shelf. Those Tiger Mask villains rule! I started collecting them recently too. I also like the Lion Maru boot..the hair really makes it. Stuff like this gets very little love on here.
Nice pizzatrash! Good mix of toys in there. I like the angled corner detolf look. Detolfs look much better not crowded
