I don't think the Lakers have to worry about Boston or Cleveland. I'm sure there was a big sigh of relief, though, when Charlotte missed the playoffs. Now they just have to hope Orlando gets knocked off before the finals.
I'm a lakers fan but if they did go all the way it will not be easy. They meet Portland or Houston in the second round. (Portland's beat them like the last 8 times or so)
(Of course it's only the last 8 times in Portland, not overall - but still...) I do not like being matched up against Houston - would much rather play Spurs, Hornets or Lakers. Hopefully we'll be able to play the Lakers in Round 2.
True. But to me the are a darkhorse and could do really well against LA. A lot of the matchups in the West will be very interesting.
I definitely think Portland is the only team in the west with a chance to beat the Lakers. When Manu went down, that killed the spurs' chances. The KG injury has killed the celtics chances to make it a Lakers v. Cetlics matchup for the second year in a row. I think the Cavs are probably going to face the Lakers, but i'm not sure that the Lakers can win that series. The cavs have been amazing at home this year and they'll have home court throughout. I like the matchups as well. The 4-5 and 3-6 first round matchups are going to be great. The east is so top heavy that i wouldnt expect too many great first round matchups.
Which is very true. But they would potentially play there 4 times, and do you think the lakers could hold serve all 3 games in LA? I'm skeptical. So that means that the lakers wouldnt have to steal 1 game, but 2 on the road. A potential game 6/7 in Cleveland with the crowd going nuts. Lebron would get every call.
Lakers won by 17 at home against the Cavs. I think the Lakers are the one team with which Cleveland does not match up well. Orlando matches up better against the Lakers, as does Portland in the West. A series with the Cavs would be over in 5, with Kobe getting another ring.
I haven't really cared about the NBA since Jordan & Pippen were causing nightmares for opposing defenses, but I do like Lebron. Go Cavs I guess.
