It's kind of funny if you watched the old, old Dragonball cartoon (not Z). There was an assassin character that had a robe that had "KILL YOU" written on the back of it. Made me laugh when I saw this one.

I love the concept of 'TV' being infused in monster designs. :)

Very apt since I world in the field. There's so many 'monsters' actually in the place where I work.

I agree. First the apple, then the cars, then the tv. I just can't figure out where they are going...i.e. if this is a new direction or what.

The minis are a good bet for these companies. They can reuse color schemes from the fullsize versions, use less than 1/2 the materials, but still charge somewhere between 1/2-2/3 the price of the fullsize.

Don's right ... def one of the stranger fests.

There was the accident on the escalator,
which I didn't actually find out about till later.
(My wife sent me a text message: "Are you OK?",
and I was like: "WTF? I'm at a TOY FESTIVAL!
    What can possibly go wrong?")

And although there was nothing I specially wanted
I still managed to spend around $200 in the first 15mins after getting in.

Most shocking of all though, a lot of stuff DIDN'T SELL OUT.
RealxHead (well, Ichibanboshi), Pop Soda, Rumble Monsters, Chronic ...
all had stuff left at the end of the day.

I think maybe it was just TOO BIG this time.
And the kaiju/sofubi was all over the place -
mixed in with all the garagetentacleporn and what have you -
I never even managed to FIND Ilanena's table. :(

Biggest DISAPOINTMENT for me was seeing the Sterogon proto.
    Srsly guys, it's fucking TINY.
    I mean, they're SPEAKERS right?
    They should be freaking MASSIVE!
(Alright, I admit ... it'll be cool if they can get it to work.)

Biggest SURPRISE was meeting Mark Nagata
and scoring a way cool OG Karma Boy!
    ... Thanks Mark! :D

I'm not gonna tell you what my FAVORIT figure was,
cuz it's also not released yet ...
and I'd like at least HALF a chance at getting one when it is!
    Heh-heh! ... 8)

I DID LIKE this Dokugan DX's guts though (datadub's pic):

Totally reminded me of the baby in 'Eraserhead'!

As great as the haul from SDCC was, I have to say these Japanese toy fests seem to blow everything else away. I think much of that has to do with the fact that if I was there I'd be able to buy a shittonne of stuff we never see overor pay inflated prices on YJA on this side of the pacifical ocean . One day though... one day...

    Answer A:
The one that dropped yesterday... Dokugan and Blob just like the NYCC versions but with green spray/marbling instead of red.

    Answer B:
The one that needs to be on my shelf!

    This is quite interesting.
Wonder (no pun intended) if it was the lack of AC or just too much product or just lame product.

Most (not all) of the stuff you see in this thread was at WonderFest in Japan this last weekend, so it's either YJA, K-T (if they get any of the stuff), or bug S7 to see what they may be getting in.
