godamitt!!!! there is a guy on the bay selling some signed pushead prints and he wont ship th the UK even tho i am a verified powerseller!!! and then every cool Secret base toy is always owned by someone that wont ship to me.....what is up?? they have to go to the post office anyway....what is the big deal???
well i ship worldwide and as long as you pay for a sig i have never had any probs ! I miss out on soo much good stuff, it blows.
I wont ship over seas anymore because 1. Tons of paperwork 2. in the last year something like 20% of the shipments got 'lost'. Its actually 'cheaper' for me to not ship overseas than replace or refund those lost shipments. And getting insurance money is like, a nightmare. my one exception is Japan, they never lose stuff. France is the worst. Half the stuff I sent there got 'lost'.
I have had nothing go missing on me yet (though something will now I bet). Many I know are cool enough to happily send overseas. Especially a few on here. I always laugh when I hear the American kids cry that the Japanese won't ship to them.
I have both sent and received more than 1,000 packages overseas over the years. Most of those have gone to the US. I have to fill out paperwork for every package I send out. Sure it takes time, but hey what's a few seconds? I rarely deal with Ebay anymore because of all the headaches involved (overcharged on shipping, cold as ice sellers, poor communication, etc). Fortunately it's a lot easier to deal with collectors one on one. My success rate (ie, trouble free) trading/selling to/buying from fellow collectors is higher than 99%. Of those very few that went bad, my guess is the other people either never sent the things they claimed to have sent or scribbled the address so it was illegible. Not surprisingly, in *every* case where trades went bad, the other person was *lousy* at PM communication. Coincidence? Of the 1,000 packages I have sent overseas, 100% of them have arrived at their destinations - a record I'm rather proud of. I write the address crystal clearly and almost always put clear tape over the address so it can't be smudged. Anyway, number one key when trading overseas (or anywhere for that matter): WRITE THE ADDRESS CLEARLY. If you're sending something to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong....remember that using Arabic letters is (for the most part) a *foreign* writing system, meaning postal workers are going to have a hard time reading addresses that are scribbled or written in cursive. Number two key: Global Priority Mail kicks ass. I have *never* had a problem with a package sent this way. EMS is also good, though ovepriced for what you get. What sucks: Priority Mail. Horrible service. Slower than Parcel Post in most cases. I get everything sent to a PO Box. I think that helps cut down on problems.
nothing ever got lost on the way to me too. please support european collectors and take the extra effort! obviously kozik is facing other problems as hardly 20 to 50 % gets lost in mail.
the funny thing is i always ship worldwide and get better prices because of it for instance that glut of Ghostfighters on the bay last week , would of sold for more if the seller had opened it up to us lot over here!!! I mean all you guys in the US generally have a couple stores you can hit up if you live in the big city....i live in the capitol of the UK and cant get my shit from nowhere but here and the bay! Maybe Frank is being targetted by a rogue postal worker toy collector .....it could happen
I'll ship to you anytime Donnie--I do on a regular basis for some friends that dont want to get nailed for overseas shipping from certain retailers and have never had one problme except long shipping times..Usually takes a few weeks but always gets there in the end!

I recently shipped a toy in trade to a guy in the UK...it just arrived after about a four week trip, and, despite the fact that I listed it as a gift "art toy", customs charged him over $50 to get the toy, which I refunded to him, due to my thinking that I screwed up the shipping...It is costing me nearly as much to "swap" toys with this guy as it would have been to ebay the damn thing... sorta sours my attitude on overseas transactions, however this is only the 2nd time I've shipped across the water... overseas ebay tranactions have been smooth with me as the buyer, but I am now very nervous about selling or trading across the pond(s)...
I have been shipping to Japan lately and have had no problems, but some of my friends have had some really serious problems with overseas shipping.
I ship about 1500 packages a year, and theres rarely a problem, but in the last year many packages to europe have gone astray. The Phillipines lost a couple as well. I cannot say I dont know if it is a case where the client claims it didnt arrive and it did, so I have to lay blame on the shipper company and refund or replace. After calculating that this gets my in a negative state, I now will not ship overseas except in a few rare cases, like the subscribers, or to Japan. The UK is pretty good as well, except their customs are aggressive.
Yeah, our customs officials are like failed cops or something and they have a hard on for toys and charging extra duty on top even if marked as a gift...
