Re: Butanohana Database Tht Would be Awesome if it came as a set- save me some trouble hunting them all down.
Re: Butanohana Database My useless toy project of the weekend was dividing the released Buta toys into lists of the show/manga/film etc that they were originally licensed from. When I'm actually displaying my toys rather than playing with them I tend to segregate them that way anyway, and a nice and tidy set of names broken up into lists of digestible length can only help my obsessive collector self navigate the picto-database with that much greater ease. I learned a ton while scouring the net for info, grabbed a few shows I'd never seen before, and came out with a pretty thorough breakdown of SO's pop culture interests made public. The carrot for me was demystifying the origin of the few characters I wasn't already sure about (and discovering more about those I was), and I thought I'd turn to the board to see if you can help out on the tail end. Thanks to the boardies whose original posts I used for some of the info here, thanks to Smo9monster for helping me with the last couple IDs, and huge thanks to Lixx for all the work in piecing together this thread in the first place! Any comments, suggestions, corrections and further information would be most welcome, and I'll update and annotate these list as often as something new and helpful is scared up, or a new toy hits the shelves. Hopefully a few of you will dig this. - 17 Oct '11 Last updated 14 March '15 TSUBURAYA PRODUCTIONS Showa: ULTRA Q '66 Baloonga Garamon Garamon Anchor Garamon Omega (Leo) Giant (Kyojin) Goga Gomess Gorgos Goro Kanegon M1Go Mongler Namegon (mini) Sudaru Todola @micros Garamon / Gomess / Goro / Kanegon / Kermur-Seijin / Namegon / Peguila ULTRAMAN '66-67 Alien Baltan 1 Alien Baltan 2 Alien Zarab *w/Zarab in ship mini Antlar Dodongo Dorako Gamakujira Gigasu Goldon Gomora Gomora's Tail (mini) Gyango Jamila Jirass Keronia Magular Pygmon RedKing RedKing (mini) Seabozu Teresudon Ultraman Ultraman Nise Woo @micros Aboras / Antlar / Bemler / Dodongo / Dorako / Gamakujira Gigasu / Gomora / Jirass / Ragon II / RedKing / Seabozu ULTRA SEVEN '67-68 Alien Icarus Alien Villa Chibull Eleking King Joe *w/saucer omake (black and red versions only) Mikuras Omocha-Jiisan (Grandpa Toys, Chibull form) *w/toy vehicle mini (truck or car) Ultraseven Windam @micros Eleking FIGHT! Re: Butanohana Database I sure as hell appreciate all the hard work that went into this. Hats off to ya!
Re: Butanohana Database Yes! Thanks Tooth, I sure do appreciate, was looking for a list to expand on Buta and this looks perfect!
Re: Butanohana Database Amazing list Tooth! I just had one concern. Did Booska actually make an appearance on the Chibira Kun TV show? I know there was an actual Booska TV show.
Re: Butanohana Database The Buta Booska is a lady Booska, and yes, like Aghira and the altered Ikarus, both originally from Ultraseven, she was part of the cast of recurring characters on Chibira-Kun. I'll try to dig out a clip. Here's a nice little write-up about the show and Buta while I'm hunting.. Thanks for the thanks, all! Now to edit this to respond to posts below: Exactly! That's why I had to sit down and do this. I felt like I knew most of them, but when I got to that final quarter it got kind of cloudy once I was trying to remember who showed up where, and I got tired of wondering about the same few total mystery characters every time I came back to admire page one. All better now. Nerd out, indeed! "Oku 奥 :Its meaning by itself is center, middle, heart. When combined with san it's literally "Person of the center/heart." Usually exclusively used by males for their wives." A gema whale! Wait, I mean Booska's wife! Cool.
Re: Butanohana Database Cool list, David. 3/4 of this was in my head. The rest I had no clue. Nerd out!
Hello, just thought I'd revive this database... Lixx, would it be possible to add the year of release for each figure? I'm trying to update my toy records, and have some gaps on when a particular figure was released, and yes, I am nerdy like that . I'll post some of the years that I have when I return home, but it would be great to have that as part of the database!
Also, it could just be an anomaly from the pic, but I saw this a while back and thought it was odd. It is a Guron, but seems to be distinctly yellow, not sure if it is an additional version to the three pictured (could be the cream, but seems pretty different )
