Rakiko, I see quite a lot of toys that I have, and more that I want, haha All the big Hatch ones look amazing together!
Thanks guys! It is long and hard to get some of them, some are expensive toys, and I think also many characters have been in your childhood memories.
Well, here's most of it...the Japanese vinyls that is. Having some displaying "brainstorming" issues to deal with and lack of room in my cabinet...whatever...I'll just keep jammin them in!
Wow. Intense and awesome. There is just too much good stuff there to single out any one (or even a few) things, so I will just say that is an incredible impressive collection. I like you have touched a little on a great variety of toy makers and character lines, something my collection does too, though not near on the coverage that you have. I hope you can get some more display room to space out the minis a bit more, you have got so much there. Maybe even do a front row in with your full size guys; just a thought. The little Bullmark alcove is really great.
Ahhh so you're Pepi on flickr! Someone had posted a pic of your collection awhile back and many of us (me included) were in awe: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=42458&hilit=masked Superb collection, nicely displayed. Even though my collection is encased in detolfs due to spacial limitations (small apt), I admire anything modern, simple, or just classic wood where the toys are the main focus. I could go on an on about the myriad of minis you have, but off the bat I notice the large Kikaider 01, Tiger 7, Masudaya Light Up's which I desire the most! Trust me, from a certified shelf jammer you look like you have plenty of space still. You might want to invest in some very shallow risers (maybe 1/2-3/4 inch). They work best with mini's and can create a bleacher stand effect.
Yeah, I am definitely glad you have started posting here. As Lixx stated, so many of us have been admiring your collection for a long time, and it is great to see some new and larger res pics of what you have now. What I can really appreciate is that it is clearly a collection built on love and appreciation, over many years. Your collection of removable masks figures alone makes most vintage folks drool, and I really just love the variety and scope of it.
I love the look, like a store shelf. The Gatchaman stands out for me, I hope to be able to afford one someday
Well thanks everyone! I'm glad to be on the list. My Flickr posting as Pepi...whoa I haven't logged on to Flickr in ages, there was definitely more room on those shelves back then. I really do enjoy the hunt and the collecting and am glad I found this list. One more pic. (sorry for the glare, I need a polarizer) I am pretty proud of this shelf...I do like to mix styles and "genres" this shelf features most of the diecasts I own...thank god my diecast fervor is controlled otherwise I would be ....broker than I am. There's a vinyl trike...just to keep with vinyl
Fantastic collection! Yeah, I love that alcove look too. So much amazing stuff. And great Gatchaman diecast / model Gatchaman collection. Thanks for sharing!
Your collection has always been a favourite of mine. It is great to see it updated. Nice selection of Kamen Rider figures. Love the Grip Gatchaman shelf and the Diaclone Battle Convoy too. You need more diecast to balance things up.
Wow, the infamous Pepis collection. I remember being blown away by that case shot you posted like three or four years ago. Especially the masked hero shelf. I starting branching out into more obscure hero toys after that. Absolutely stellar collection. Glad to see you are still at it, thanks for sharing these.
Haha...I have a bunch of diecast, myself...but I've always said pretty much the opposite! Good thing my vinyl collecting is under control...
Stunning collection! The Yellow Head Tiger 7 made my heart skip a beat . Do you have a standard sized Chameleon rider? Thanks for sharing! P.S. Do you have a Popy AND Bandai Inazuman? I would love to see a photo of them side by side with their logos. They are suppose to look identical.
I don't have either of those...Chameleon Rider when the price is right!...they're always out there. and the Bandai Inazuman - I've been looking around but no real hurry. I'll post as soon as I do get either of them though.
Thank you for the update! I'm still looking for a decent Standard Chameleon as well. My money tree was bare earlier this year , when they seemed more "plentiful". They do pop up, but seem harder to find than the giant size. Good luck with the Bandai Inazuman!
I have the worst story about that G1 Jet and the Godphoenix: I spent years looking for them BEFORE the internet and then finally got them and my friend who was much older then me at the time but a pro photographer offered to photograph them for me. I didn't hear from him for two weeks then his sister rang and said he'd DIED! I went around a week after the funeral and asked if I could get them back and she basically told me to go fuck myself and "What kind of arsehole tries to steal from the dead!?" This guy didn't have a single toy in his house and they were still sitting right there in his light tent set-up! I hate the early 90s!
Wow that sounds like something right out of a 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' episode. I would have pressed harder though, and thrown 'how it appears' right out the window. Are you still in touch?
Okay, I still have not had time to take proper pictures, much less finish setting up everything, but we are getting close here.....I started buying this stuff in '91, so this is 22 years in the "game" so to speak....All these pictures were taken for other reasons, but seemed fine to post here. here is a rough comp of the room from when I was still unpacking. Who am I kidding. I am still unpacking. That stepladder is a keeper. Here's the center section, hiding behind one of Canada's finest, Shane Turgeon. Shane is directly responsible for the long chain of events that eventually led us to have our own Star Wars licenses, and he is a deep toy collector. Google him and check out his prototypes. Here is a detail of that center shelf. Giant Size Yonezawa walking Mirrorman, Kittyfire and Aian with boxes and large scale poly Gekko Kamen cycle with removable mask in front. Still one of my favorites lines of all time. The Masudaya light ups. Here are all the carded versions except for Mazinger-Z. I only have that figure loose. Extra points for the boxed large size Flicker chest Red Baron, Giant Size Zone Fighter nodder and Condorman missile fire I have not relocated to their proper homes yet. Masudaya Light up Store display, along with a few loose V3s, the one with the wires hanging out was cut out of a store display. The extras are for trade, as even I don't need 5. Not sure how I ended up with 5 either. Some boxes in storage, these are four of the five Masudaya sparking figures. Original IKB (all three paints on the flying, two are in the bags, two of the three standing paint, and only one of the walking paints), Hawaii Hedorah and a vintage Flesh Hedorah. Rumors abound as to whether the flesh version is a real Bullmark, or a vintage bootleg made by the Osaka Yakuza. No one really knows the answer, but I can say that they are not painted exactly like a true Bullmark flesh vinyl. Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program....
Amazing set up. Love the Masudaya light ups. That was always one of my favourite S7 articles. How tall is the giant size Zone Fighter nodder?
Amazing! I cant believe you havent got that step ladder in a cabinet yet But seriously the light ups and the bikes - super stuff !
organic_addict, it is the 15" giant size nodder. This is the only giant size nodder Nakajima ever made. It is tough as nails to track down. I have a loose one as well, but it is missing the gloves. This was on my top 10 holy grail toys for years and years.
