eloco, its not really about the swastika as none of these companies have used that imagery, its about the Totenkopf being used.

I had to wiki this to understand what you guys were talking about. ...for the unlearned: yeah slightly disturbing, but wiki mentioned that it has prussian military origins which pre-date the Third Reich.

First the name your using is a name given to that symbol by German forces, not its true name at all (I see the exact resemblance on the header card from the nazi hat also). The true original name is "Jolly Roger" which was used on flags to signify piracey in open waters. Why the toy company chose the exact symbol that was used by the Nazi's I couldnt say and it is a little wierd. I knew what you were talking about, just used that as a point of iconism. That symbol actually had been repeadily used for 200 years prior to the Nazi occupation. British, Swedish, Italians, French and Chilean's all used this emblem to signify several different things. Most of these used throughout history have represented the saying "Death or Glory" or refer to Death before dishonor. In 1861 our own army in NY. used this symbol and displayed it proudly, Germans didnt start the use of that symbol in their uniforms until roughly 1918 or so. Knowing its history (and the history of the swastika) allow me to think freely as to why these symbols are used to date by different cultures and what the representaion is. I would truly say this symbol in the Japanese culture would in deed stand for a form of the saying "Death or Glory" which is quite appropriate for toys nowadays. Just my opinion and you know how those are.

Re: JACK THE GIANT KILLER MONSTER (AKA 2HD BEMON) VS DORORU
I did state that I knew it had been used prior to the SS adopting it. You could argue it also had a different name prior but 99% of the time that i've seen it pre-SS its been slightly different, and in the case of pirates, its wholly different. This version is an almost identical replica of the SS insignia. Its not like using the swastika design and using it in a different way, its like having a black swastika, in a white circle, on a red background and then saying it was used prior to Nazism.
I'm just finding it utterly bizarre that you would use this logo untouched, thats all.

From what I know of Japanese culture I would honestly believe it to mean something along the lines of "death or glory" or in that general sense. Def a wierd symbol to convey that message with, no doubt....if thats what its meant as. On the flip, Its very possible someone saw this symbol and thought it was cool without knowing its history with the Nazi regime or viewing it as offensive at all. Kind of how some words in one language mean something crazy in another. Its not like I know or something, just trying to intelligently analyze it.

However the Dororu has waaaaay more girth. The quality of vinyl for both is pretty equal as well...nice, sturdy and thick in most parts. Regarding the Totenkopf ...using ones own version of a Jolly Roger is one thing but to use the exact image the Nazis/SS used is pretty creepy. I can't imagine any justification for it other than ignorance. Great observation Parka & great contribution eLOCO. Not sure how to say "back to toys" after touching on something so sensitive but I guess I just did.

Re: JACK THE GIANT KILLER MONSTER (AKA 2HD BEMON) VS DORORU
I knew it went to far already, appologies.
I dont even know anything about the Dororu or how/where to obtain one but they are friggin beautiful pieces. I have seen a couple that are just some of the most perfect applications of paint and really would like to try and find one.
Your pics are dank as stated, love the semi animatics.

I read it but you know, I'm not as informed on these toys as you guys are. I never even saw this figure before ER sent some pics to me a few weeks back. I think I know where to possibly, maybe, purchase one.
