Post slm's FULL collection thread...
hey brainers! haven't been here much lately. good to see everyone is still digging the toys! i've been collecting still, but quietly. i've recently procreated yet again, so 2 little boys take a lot of my time away from toys. i moved all my toys (both kaiju/vinyl & action figures) into the basement. it seems a bit descriminating to have my toys in the basement, but priorities are what they are. it is nice though, finally having everything within one eye shot. so i picked up a few more detolfs (i know a lot of you are detolf haters. i kind of am too. but transferring to a new shelving system would mean a bunch of these taking up space somewhere else. ANYWAYS, here is the best full collection shot i could get with the limited standing space i had with camera in hand:
Image

and here is just the vinyl side:

gargamel eaton/smoking star #1

and here are some of my action figure shelfs. i've excluded a few because i am missing some figures in them that are either packed away and i have yet to locate them or are in transit here. i'll update with those shelf pics when they are completed....

remco warrior beasts/warlord figures
Image

3-3/4" figures
-remco crystar
-mattel battlestar galactica (1979)
-mattel flash gordon (1979)
-dragonriders of the styx
-ljn ad&d warduke

motu villains
Image

motu horde & snakemen
Image

various motu vehicles & figures that didn't fit into the other 3 shelfs
Image

early 90s neon shit

power rangers #1

so yeah, that's the current completeness. and i'll update and add those other shelf pics once those bare spots are filled. :D

That's a really nice collection and set-up you have going. How long have you been collecting?

I am most jealous of these two shelves:

Post Re: slm's FULL collection thread...
thanks guys!

i've been collecting for roughly 10 years, vinyl over the last 5 (except i've been living the action figure side of collecting for the last 6 months).

the remco's are great, it was hard tracking down the weapons without getting financially raped. i got a sheet of red vinyl from a local sign shop and have been trying to find a stencil to bootleg a cape for skullman. the ever-elusive wolf warrior and ramar are still missing from this get-up.

i now noticed that crossbow is barely visible in the 3-3/4" shelf...

Was the figure in the fifth photo, in the back hand corner, (that's presumably a Bear Model toy) sculpted by Butanohana? It looks like the same teeth and eyes as the Dust Monster. Awesome collection BTW.

So thrilled to see your full collection for the first time SLM. I could spend hours playing I Spy just from these photos. As with most, the Remco's are truly great, but I have to express my love for the BSG, since no one already has. Still missing coverage on a few shelves though, Blackstar in particular [yes, I am that guy  ]. Nice to see Toxie represented too. Ahh, the early 90s, what happened to you?! :)

Post Re: slm's FULL collection thread...
early 90s stuff (i.e., the toxic crusaders/tmnt/monster in my pocket shelf) is truly awesome. i think a lot of my fight figure taste comes from this stuff. sucker for neons.

@ ultrakaiju - i remember your love for blackstar. same here. totally unappreciated filmation goodness! the reason i haven't posted that pic yet is because i have a complete minty mara coming soon! and a couple sungold turly gang figs to tie in on that shelf.

@ slipstar01 - that is a yametarans fig, character from ultraman jack. very similar imo to the dust monster by butanohana, but is indeed bear model. the big eye monster to the right of that shelf is actually a yamanaya figure though, not bear model.

@ joe - thanks man! a good portion of my collection was built with your sales help. so lets do a digital version of the onyx slam chest bump right now. thanks for everything, and glad you dig the display/collection!

@ !DEECO! - right on! tmnt rules. actually though, only 3 figs on that shelf are tmnt, but the 3 best imo. i have a bunch more tmnt figs, but only displayed these 3 because they are my favs, and didn't want to take up another shelf for these types of figs.

@ coma21 - another early 90s fig fan! good stuff! and i've passed a few pm's on some other toy boards about those body wars sets. hopefully i can find you something!

I offer jaw picking up services for the low rate of one Mecha Gorilla-ju. It's a bargain. Trust me.

Post Re: slm's FULL collection thread...
thanks to all for the congrats on the new baby! not trying to brag, but my kids truly are awesome! :P

i am honored to add your jaws to my collection. i might move them from the floor to the detolfs.

@ hellopike - no more transformers. i did have a pretty hefty collection of them. the newer universe 2.0 stuff, nothing much for vintage. but i sacrificed them a while ago to finance some motu ko finds. the closest thing to that is the power rangers/super sentai megazords hanging out across the top of the shelves.

@ jacksauce - motu ko figs are the most fun of all 80s action figures imo. i pretty much enjoy them more than actual motu figs! so many obscure lines that are discovered constantly.

@ moog - when i shifted my collecting habits from vinyl back to action figures recently, i assumed it would relieve some stress from the wallet. it did, only because i've been able to pick up some good garage sale trade bait, coupled with stuff left over from my childhood from toy lines i decided not to run with in my older years (i was pleasantly surprised to find out tomy spinjas held an awesome market value!). but for the most part, once you start hunting down the obscure stuff, there isn't much relaxation in the pricing.

@ ungawa222 - like the way the eyes in your custom garamons eyes kinda "light up" from the flash in the picture here. still one of my fav customs!
