I've seen them before. Not sure how they were distributed/how many were sold like that but from what I know they're from the original GID run, just not painted (duh.)

I was drooling all over the place for these but they quickly went out of my price range. If only there was an unpainted version of the pink!

after posting that, i did some sleuthing and those belonged to creevox/bernie.

apparently he passed away 2 years ago. i really had no idea, he was a friend and disappeared after a while.

sad that the person selling those had no idea what they had on their hands, really disappointing to see this.

So I guess one of our newer members 3d moonman flipped them?

This is sad news all around. Someone should contact the family to let them know what they have. Maybe some of the funds could go to help out the family. That would be a flip that I could live with. To see another collection go for those prices after death is terrible.

Wow, that is very sad news, and it is a understandably difficult situation when someone passes that has a collection like that. Clearly amassed over years with love and dedication. Even beyond the Anraku stuff, it would have been nice to see the toys get their due respect. As a collector of the 'other' stuff like Bearmodel and M1, you never really want to see this happen.

I want to add, I am not trying to know anyone for trying to get a bargain, but as Rich said, I would at least like to see the family get fair market value - it's not like this is one lone piece that slips under the radar, it is an entire collection. And IF these are being flipped for quick profit by one individual, that is about the lowest of the low, and makes me incredibly angry.

It may be too late. The seller of the two Anraku pieces sold off a bunch of unpainted GID figures under vague listings, most of which went for < $30.

While it sucks that someone scooped these up just to flip, the seller (which I assume is a friend or family member of creevox) could have done their homework and probably sold these for a decent amount. Moreover, the re-seller probably had no idea where these originally came from, so I don't really see how they should be held accountable for profiting on the original seller's mistake (more than any other flipper anyway).

Not to sound callous, but this kind of thing underscores the importance of keeping records and letting your significant others, friends and family know what you have in your collection. I am sad to see creevox gone, as he was one of the pioneers that contributed a lot to this area of collecting.

If that's the family running those auctions someone should inform them of what they have and perhaps lend them a hand on how to properly title them.

Wow creevox died? That's sad. I didn't know him well but I knew he had a really nice unpainted glow collection. What was his phrase? "If it doesn't glow it's gotta go!"

I agree with Daniel, really need to make some sort of excel sheet with baseline values in case of my untimely demise.

Aw man, creevox was awesome. I'm really sorry to hear that. I could care less about the flipping right now, shit. I just assumed the big payday flipper was him getting out of the hobby since I knew he once owned these.

On a similar note I've told my wife as much as I can about these things. She barely remembers but I know she could figure it out if I ever get into some accident or something.

Anyway, wow, that's sad if he has passed.
