Re: Show the love for M1-GO!
That green skin version you speak of was a one off custom (I don't know by who- definitely not Yuji). The version in in the pic you posted is the only painted version I know of. There are flesh colored blanks as well.

Re: Show the love for M1-GO!
I'm with Chris in that I've only seen those two flesh runs: the painted in a set with Baragon; and the blank in that year's lucky bag. The releases had a 1-day license, so rights might have something to do with a lack of other versions being produced.
Somebody sold a Yuji one off (or test shot?) on eBay last year, but it appeared to be from the same batch of vinyl. It was very similar to the toy that you now have. Ultrakaiju may have saved the link/pics.
And yeah, it's not all that common for makers to keep it to a single release, but M1 has a decent number of others that fall into that category - Yadokarin and most of the humanoids come to mind. Same with a good number of LD tie-ins. Keronia Seijin never even showed up out a lucky bag!

Believe it or not I recently won 2 of the 3 due to bidding too slow!! I tried everything to get the buyer to sell me the 3rd after he beat me in the auction because i screwed up. The set will now be broken forever!!

Re: Show the love for M1-GO!
Picked up this Gorgos recently, wondering if anyone knows anything about him? He came bagged /w usual header, but looks very similar to the version that came in the display set (which I assume was not individually bagged) but some of the color shades and area of paint application are different. You can see on my version with the blue each bump was individually sprayed, I think the display version is just usual cover spray. The bag was very worn, I am guessing it is older.
Display version via CT:

Re: Show the love for M1-GO!
Now that is a nice example of a toy; M1 at its finest. I would definitely venture to say what you have there is not the normal 'display' version, as you have shared. It could be a Yuji one-off, or a small release from a show. I have not seen those colours on him before, but CT is not all-encompassing either, as excellent a resource as it is. Whenever/wherever he came from though, he is a real beauty. A simply excellent Gorgos for your GID family!

Just picked a Gameto up, I really like the details on this figure but I feel like a chump for not knowing anything about the character.. can anybody shed some light on the story behind this toy/character?

If this is the character I am thinking of, Gameto was the winning design in a contest run by new Bullmark to design an original kaiju. The winner had their design made into a Bullmark-style vinyl. I believe M1 was involved in the production of the toy.
The contest was covered by Hyper Hobby, but unfortunately, it looks like the site is gone. I found this video on the contest:

Thanks for the info badteeth and akum6n. I have seen this guy a few times while browsing M1GO on Mandarake and always thought the sculpt looked out of place in the M1 lineup. Now I know why. Nice toy though. I really like the clear red vinyl version.

Re: Show the love for M1-GO!
That's the guy! Thanks for the information - knowing that backstory makes me like this figure even more. Would be cool if that was an annual contest we could see some crazy monsters come out of it!
Yeah, just to be clear this is actually a Bullmark toy, made and licensed by them, though M1 did have some role in the development or bringing it to production, as mentioned. But even then, it never really fit it for me. It is a bit too rough/'neo' era looking, and as much as I like it as a kaiju concept, it doesn't really suit my personal tastes standing alongside the standard classics. Still a lovely toy, and the idea of a fan-made monster is fantastic. I can't see this ever being repeated to be honest though; certainly very sporadically, if ever.
Well, I guess you could call it a collaborative effort maybe. My hunch is though, that maybe Yuji had a hand more on the paints and possibly bringing the design to life (as in the sculpt) as opposed to production. Though he has his own character header, from what I take to be the original monster design, they are 'branded' as Bullmark, which is what I have been going by. Although Yuji has had a hand in a lot of other toys, Yamanaya for example as well, he tends to take a back seat where giving credit is concerned (if accepting any credit at all, that humble so-and-so). And given the "large" nature of Bullmark as a company, I can see them releasing it in this case as one of their own.

Such a nice Monmoth you picked up there Rei. I really dig it. I think you managed to find the 'Museum' version too, which is really nice, though they (the GID versions) are are all quite similar to each other. Great to get back to seeing posts of new M1 toys in this thread!

Re: Show the love for M1-GO!
Thanks! Looking at the Club Tokyo pics, I believe that it's indeed the Museum version; the other GIDs have orange spray on the pistil, this one is more yellow. Very glad to have it in the collection now!

Yep, that is the rarer alternative version. The main difference is the sprays on the UltraQ lettering. When i bought mine the stock picture was for the 'museum' one but what i actually received was the regular one (pic below). I did'nt mind too much, they are both equally awesome!
