Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
Marira looks so great, much better than the proto pics. Does anyone have the vintage card art its based from?
Anthony what is the scoop on that Ball Eyes Fishman?
I have the 1st version & saw the blue ones but that one you got looks almost mono toned with the paint

I have two different sets of the CKA coin banks (Yoda has made at LEAST three different color ways now); they are great little toys and the ones I own are fairly squishy. Good to know yours does not have the coin slit. I would have preferred no coin slit with my sets, but regardless they are still outstanding minis. And going for cheap whenever they come up for sale as well. Agree Lee. They are fun little banks and decently priced in the aftermarket. I'm happy that Yoda-san reprinted them. I wouldn't mind owning the originals if I could ever find them. kichigai wrote: Marira looks so great, much better than the proto pics. Does anyone have the vintage card art its based from?

I have the first 2. Personally in my opinion the first 2 releases are painted better. It is kind of mono tone. The metallic purple paint doesn't really contrast the vinyl as much when in hand. But this one is still nice.

I have noticed how weird that most TE dolls look under a blacklight if you have access to one I bet this Fishman looks super crazy!

^^ Thanks dudes ! skeet wrote: I already regret having it sold Just know that his horrendous visage is in an appreciative home In comparison to the other Hino toys from this line ( made in China ) the vinyl is much softer, and closer to sofubi. Not to mention the posability of the head and arms, which is not a feature on the other ones.

The knockoff character is loosely base on the 1969 American horror film "It's Alive". Here are the other 2 color releases.... First release in June 2012 Second release in August 2013

Do you mean 'Its Alive' that was made in the mid-70s, the one with the mutant baby? Same film? It was quite the drive-in hit at the time, heh, and spawned sequels including 'Island of the alive'. Thats a great vinyl. Looks to me like a sleestak/aquatic monster hybrid.

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
It's the 1969 movie. The 1974 movie with the same title is something completely different than the 69.

Google search can be your friend You might have misunderstood my intent. I know the film, the mutant babies, and the years/era well, I was being courteous to ChimpleyKaiju as he mentioned that the film and monster design were from a 60s film. So many films, especially b-pictures, share very similar titles so I wanted to be sure and give the benefit of the doubt. (Dark House, Dark Night, Monster, The monster, I Monster, etc. and so on.) Please put a few coins in the Basic Manners Jar for rolling your eyes at me over a simple misunderstanding. /Edit/ "It's the 1969 movie. The 1974 movie with the same title is something completely different than the 69." Ah, see, I'm not aware of that one. Thanks for clearing that up, man.
