Awesome toy! I'm interested on how that pose is assembled.. where are the joints on this thing? Also I thought Blackbook Toy was all about being "legit japanese sofubi" interesting that this one is made in China.. could be related to the weird pose/assembly?

i've been pretty disconnected with a lot of the sofubi happenings, so i don't know who blackbox is, but the box says that it is made by Dunk and i read somewhere that Acro had a hand in it as well. i know Acro makes pretty detailed kaiju figures, but have no idea who Dunk is.
as for "joints" they're all over the place. one mid way through the nose, the jaw, elbows, forehead, etc... the paint job and locations of creases/bumps are so good you don't see the creases unless you're really looking for them

Probably more related to the quantity of toys being produced & keeping it affordable.

Only the head can turn, the rest is is fixed. But it's a nice standing pose and has a very vintage flavour to it. Made in China for the Japanese pharmaceutical company Aimikusu, and was available to sales reps only. It comes with a heart-shaped stand and a clock (which I obviously discarded!) and I changed the tag around his neck. Bought it from _bay :)

Thanks. And yup! It was a hot pink with a little jewel in the belly button. Not really a needed addition, but I figured one limited release was welcome. I hope to see more booska sofubi this year.

I thought it was. VERY NICE! They only made like 8 is that right? I was not sure why it came with a metal base, it didn't seem to represent "anything Booska"

As it will be Booska's 50th anniversary this year I am hoping for a release of some special items (and hopefully at least affordable ones) :)

Yeah, the metal base threw me off too. It was in celebration of some department store's umpteenth anniversary, so the base was some kind of phone accessory. I wanted to display without it, but my OCDness wouldn't allow it.

Yes! This is the 50th or 60th anniversary, so I'm hoping for some new stuff! Yamomark is a talent I'm hoping comes through! They did a nice job with kanegon and garamon.

You scored nicely with that! I love the candy color pink! It would be so cool if US TOYS made a supersized Booska, the way they have done with Kanegon in the past.

The milky DB is earlier, a run from several years ago painted by Anraku.
