OMG! I remember going to see Mummenschanz when I was a kid! I only really remember the toilet paper faced dude. What does that say about me? What a blast from the past.

That is a gaikochu soldier by Skull Tula from japan. He is awesome!!! This was the first release of only 10! But I'm sure more will be avail soon as I've seen some new colors appearing on IG!

I know nothing about Rainbow figures but that is one cool shelf there! Well done Jim!
So does anyone know if that battle ship head is an homage to Yamato? Looks like it has the wave motion gun on the bow. I'll need to look for that one. Very nice.

Re: Favorite shelf
today was a very happy day for me.
as most of you don't know, my collection has been largely in storage for the last 2 years due to shitty living circumstances. i recently moved into a new place and brought one of maybe 8/10 large boxes out of storage.
most of my boxes are organized by maker/style, but this particular box is a mix of everything. it was my final catchall where all the misc toys were put right before i moved everything into storage. a little bit of everything.. resin, die cast, metal, ceramic, plush, vinyl, liscenced, bootleg, indie, neo and vintage.. 100% fun and silly.
so here's my favorite shelf of the moment. my only shelf.. located in my large closet until i get a nicer shelving system. nothing fancy but it brings me so much damn joy to look at these guys after what feels like an eternity of having no real display room

Absolutely fantastic display, Z! Arguably random, sure, but your curatorial eye shows through in every selection. I'm so glad that some of your plastic family was able to come up for air.

Superb miscellany right there. I love it! What is that bootleg Vader figure? (And, it is my sincere estimation that he really doesn't fit in with your shelf at all. I think I can offer a suggestion to fix that.)
just a small fraction of the horde, but today i just picked a few of my all time favorites from their usual spots and put 'em on a shelf together. picked up the vinyl pink owl at a flea market this weekend, anyone ever seen it before?

Re: Favorite shelf
thanks for all the kind words. this shelf brings me endless amounts of joy.
ultrakaiju- i believe the vader is a mexican bootleg, its about 15 inches tall and weighs next to nothing
nice assorted shelf muck monster. so many oddballs i've never seen before, especially love that furry green guy with the big nose

That shelf looks so awesome Jim. I need to start hunting for some of these. Thats Warship Kamen from Go Ranger. Going by what he looks like in the show I dont think they were going for yamato.
