Re: Anraku Photos! as far as I can judge the difference from the 2 pics I have seen, the difference between the 2 versions are:
*kimono with the DX(deluxe ?) version
*orange tongue with the DX version (silver on the regular)
*metalic colors on the DX´s head and belly...a kinda metalic green
maybe the back will show a bigger difference ???

There is no way any sales method is fair. Period. None. Lottery? How do we KNOW it's not a facade that's rigged? In the end, even if done "fairly" the stuff gets to flippers. I'm ok with it because I'm not fighting with anyone and have my own opinion on it. Before I was on the list I was happy to get what I got no matter what and was glad to see pics of new releases. So I'll still post pics. I knida thought the DX version had some extra metallic paint on the belly/head but an't tell from PK's pics. I'd love to see more from others with DX to at least see the other outfits. My wife likes these more than Nags but still mocks me for dressing up my dollies. I'm ok with it too. The thing is...is that those options above (i.e. lotteries, sales at night, time zones..etc) still allow people to have a shot at owning something. It doesn't guarentee anything but it gives them a shot. A closed email list does not. Anyway..awesome drunkboy. All of these aa toys are pretty cool

Re: Anraku Photos! Not to derail the thread but how can lotteries be as unfair as a closed email list? Lotteries you at least have a chance to buy something, even if it's as you say "some weird time". If you want it bad enough you make the effort to find out when that time is (japan is usually ahead anywhere from 11-12 hrs) and act accordingly. If you win you win and get something you really wanted at cost. If you lose you know most places will offer something else around the corner. This is by far a lot fairer than "you're not on the list you're not getting in" mentality that prevails with Anraku. Not begrudging Anraku list members here either. I happy for the people that are really into collecting it and get it for cost (and big point here: actually keep it!). But for someone like myself who likes maybe one or two sculpts, it's a bit of a turn off with their selling method and would never really explore them further.

I've been handling it all day, there really is so much amazing detail to it, and it looks a different kind of awesome from every direction. I like the header card a lot too, I'll have to take pictures of it later. Other than the milky white one having so little paint, there's another thing I think would make me enjoy it less. I'm really into glowies, they make up half or more of my small collection...and any time I look at a toy cast in white vinyl, milky or solid, in my head I'm screaming "WHY DON'T YOU GLOW". I admit I'm weird about that though. jebcrow, I definitely imagine you should find a yellow one before I do...me having that kind of money is like the planets aligning. I won't be TOO jealous of you; this pink beauty is going to keep me happy for a long, long time

Found out some information about the general inspiration for the drunk boy apparently there is a story about demons and the like and there is a demon called Shuten-dōji who is a drunken monster. That's about all i could really remember i was told by one of my Japanese friends. Maybe someone on here knows this story and would like to elaborate? .
